Deputy General Manager - IOT & Applications

Key Responsibilities:

IoT Strategy & Implementation:

- Architect and deploy smart factory initiatives integrating sensors, PLCs, SCADA, MES, and SAP systems.

- Enable real-time visibility of shop floor data (OEE, machine health, predictive maintenance, energy monitoring).

- Select and implement IoT platforms and protocols (MQTT, OPC-UA, Edge Gateways, Azure IoT, etc.).

- Collaborate with engineering and plant teams to digitize critical production processes using IIoT solutions.

Application Portfolio Management:

- Oversee the entire portfolio of business and industrial applications outside of core SAP (e.g., MES, PLM, QMS, DMS, EMERGE, etc.).

- Drive integration between enterprise applications and shop floor systems to enable end-to-end visibility.

- Ensure scalability, interoperability, and user experience of all in-house and third-party applications.

- Drive the adoption of low-code/no-code platforms and microservices where applicable.

Digital Innovation & Data Analytics:

- Collaborate with data science/analytics teams to unlock value from IoT and operational data.

- Enable advanced use cases like digital twins, AI/ML-driven predictive analytics, and condition-based monitoring.

- Support sustainability goals with data-driven energy and utility management systems.

Leadership & Governance:

- Build and lead a high-performing cross-functional team of IoT engineers, application architects, and

developers.

- Define governance for application lifecycle management, cybersecurity for OT/IoT, and data privacy.

- Manage budgets, vendors, and solution partners for digital transformation and IoT initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience:

- Bachelors or Masters degree in Electronics, Computer Science, Industrial Automation, or related field.

- 20+ years of experience in IT/OT systems,MES with at least 10+ years leading digital or IoT transformation in a manufacturing setup.

- Strong understanding of industrial protocols, edge computing, MES systems, and cloud-native

architecture.

- Experience in automotive or discrete manufacturing industry is highly desirable.

- Familiarity with tools like Siemens MindSphere, Azure IoT, ThingWorx, Ignition SCADA,MES or

equivalent platforms.
