Deputy General Manager / General Manager PPC (Production Planning & Control)


Role Objective:

To lead and manage the Production Planning & Control (PPC) function, ensuring optimal capacity utilization, seamless coordination across departments, and timely delivery of products for both domestic and export markets. The role focuses on operational excellence, resource optimization, and continuous improvement to enhance overall productivity and profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

Production Planning & Coordination:

- Ensure the production plan supports full capacity utilization across all processes.

- Coordinate with process departments and marketing to finalize an optimal and mutually acceptable production plan for existing and new products (NPD).

- Manage planning and order delivery (domestic & export) of finished goods and billets as per schedule.

Material & Process Management:

- Ensure optimal billet supply to internal customers.

- Oversee logistics to ensure smooth provision of materials to all processes.

- Review and monitor WIP (finished goods) and manage outsourcing for bright bar conversion and rolling of finished goods.

- Supervise loading, invoicing, and dispatch of finished goods as per schedule.

- Monitor truck turnaround time and ensure complete product traceability.

Inventory & Quality Control:

- Oversee salvaging and liquidation of non-moving finished goods and rejected billets.

- Ensure maintenance of daily and periodic MIS reports for operational tracking and performance monitoring.

System & Process Improvement:

- Drive automation and mechanization initiatives to improve system efficiency and productivity.

- Ensure the integrity and timeliness of all data entries in SAP for accurate inter-departmental communication.

People Management & Safety:

- Maintain safety and security standards; ensure adherence to all health & safety guidelines.

- Foster harmonious employee relations and address disciplinary issues in consultation with HR.

- Lead, mentor, and develop direct reports to enhance capability and performance across the PPC function.

Customer & Stakeholder Management:

- Ensure timely and effective resolution of customer complaints.

- Coordinate across production, marketing, quality, and logistics to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction.

Key Skills & Attributes:

- Strong expertise in Production Planning, Supply Chain, and Operations Management.

- Proficiency in SAP and manufacturing workflow management.

- Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills.

- Proven ability to implement automation and process improvement initiatives.

- Strong problem-solving and team development capabilities.
