Deputy General Manager/General Manager - Procurement

Job Description:

We are looking for a Procurement leader to operations for large-scale EPC projects in the Transmission & Distribution (T&D) and Substation domain. The role involves driving strategic sourcing, vendor ecosystem development, cost optimization, and ensuring seamless supply chain execution aligned with project timelines and business goals.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead and manage end-to-end procurement strategy for EPC projects across Transmission Lines and Substations (AIS/GIS).

- Drive procurement planning in alignment with project schedules, ensuring timely availability of critical materials and equipment.

- Oversee sourcing of major electrical equipment including transformers, GIS/AIS switchgear, circuit breakers, isolators, towers, conductors, cables, and associated systems.

- Establish and strengthen long-term relationships with key OEMs, contractors, and global suppliers.

- Lead high-value contract negotiations, commercial finalization, and risk mitigation strategies.

- Develop procurement policies, standardization frameworks, and best practices across projects.

- Ensure cost competitiveness through strategic sourcing, value engineering, and continuous market benchmarking.

- Collaborate closely with Engineering, Project Management, Finance, and Site teams to ensure alignment and execution excellence.

- Monitor supply chain risks and implement contingency plans to avoid project delays.

- Drive digital transformation initiatives in procurement (ERP, analytics, automation).

- Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, quality standards, and internal governance.

- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing procurement team across multiple projects/locations.
