Deputy General Manager Finance-External Reporting

Overview:

One of our TMT clients looking for the Deputy General Manager External Reporting, a key member of the Group Finance team, responsible for leading and coordinating all aspects of external financial reporting across 14 markets. The role ensures timely, accurate, and compliant submission of statutory reports and regulatory filings while engaging closely with local finance teams, auditors, and crossfunctional stakeholders.

The ideal candidate possesses strong expertise in IFRS, regional regulatory frameworks, and demonstrates leadership capability to influence across a matrixed organization.

Key Responsibilities:

External Reporting:

- Lead and manage the external reporting process across the SubSaharan region, ensuring timely submission of statutory accounts and regulatory filings.

- Ensure compliance with IFRS and relevant local GAAPs across all operational entities.

- Partner with incountry finance leaders to standardize reporting processes and enhance data quality and accuracy.

- Maintain and improve reporting templates and tools for grouplevel analysis and presentations.

- Participate in and lead special financial reporting projects such as mergers, acquisitions, or capital market activities.

Statutory Reporting:

- Oversee consolidated external quarterly and annual financial statements and preparation of the MD&A in accordance with IFRS.

- Stay updated on emerging IFRS regulations and relevant country-level reporting rules; drive adoption across the organization.

- Ensure financial integrity, data accuracy, and documentation compliance to support audits (including SOX).

- Coordinate internal and external financial reporting filings in compliance with government and regulatory bodies.

- Collaborate with tax, treasury, compliance, and legal teams to ensure accurate disclosures and adherence to corporate reporting guidelines.

Operational Controls & Governance:

- Address operational company (OpCo) queries and provide guidance for improved financial control.

- Develop and implement review mechanisms ensuring accuracy in financial reporting.

- Release updated reporting manuals and guidelines to ensure correct accounting and uniformity across books.

- Provide guidance on accounting practices and operational issues.

Strategic Partner Management:

- Maintain strong relations with strategic partners for operational and accounting matters.

- Highlight issues to governance teams for timely action and closure.

- Develop and release accounting guidelines and reconciliation processes related to strategic partners.

Projects & Automation:

- Monitor the successful completion of financial reporting projects.

- Drive automation of reporting processes.

- Release accounting guidelines and frameworks when required.

Must Have:

- Chartered Accountant (CA), CPA, ACCA, or equivalent qualification required.

- Postgraduate degree in Finance/Accounting preferred.

- Minimum 8 to 10 years of progressive experience in financial reporting, including at least 3 years in a regional or group-level role.

- Strong knowledge of IFRS; experience with multientity and multicountry reporting.

- Expertise in financial reporting tools and modern accounting software.

- Knowledge of IFRS / Indian GAAP / US GAAP standards.

- Experience working with ERP systems (Oracle), MS Excel, MS Access.

- 8 to 10 years in a highvolume finance environment, including at least 5 years in a senior management role.
