Deputy General Manager/Assistant General Manager - Procurement - Mechenical Parts

Role Overview :

The incumbent will be responsible for the procurement of mechanical equipment and spares, ensuring continuity and efficiency of plant operations. This is a techno-commercial leadership role requiring deep industry insight and strong negotiation acumen.

Key Responsibilities :

- Oversee procurement of pumps, valves, bearings, compressors, piping materials, fabrication items, etc.

- Evaluate and finalize vendors based on quality, cost, and delivery parameters

- Drive supplier audits, relationship management, and performance tracking

- Execute long-term procurement contracts and rate agreements

- Coordinate with engineering and maintenance teams for technical specifications

- Identify cost-saving opportunities through alternate sourcing or bulk buying

- Lead team of buyers, provide mentorship and ensure process compliance

- Monitor market trends for mechanical commodities and pricing impact

Desired Profile

- B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering/MBA Preferred -

12-18 years of experience in mechanical procurement within large-scale manufacturing plants

- Sound knowledge of mechanical components, vendor ecosystems, and contract management
