Our client, a well-established travel and lifestyle brand in Mumbai, is seeking a Deputy Category Manager to join them. The position will involve steering product development, pricing strategy, brand proposition, promotions, and channel management. The ideal candidate must have a proven track record in a similar profile, with experience in all aspects of brand management. Responsibilities: - Lead the development of new product categories and identify areas where the brand can gain a competitive advantage. - Develop and execute the annual product development strategy, from the initial design brief to the final launch. - Work closely with the design, development, and sourcing team to take the product/category projects from the design to execution stage. - Maintain the brand P&L to deliver overall profitability targets. - Monitor the gross margins of individual SKUs to maintain unit economics of the brand. - Develop and implement the brand's pricing strategy in line with market conditions & gross margin targets. - Develop consumer promotions for retail/hyper market/e-commerce channels with an annual calendar across categories. - Develop trade schemes for trade/dealer market channels across categories. - Identify opportunity areas across product development, sales promotions & brand communication with demand trend analysis and gap analysis Requirements - A Postgraduate degree in marketing. - 5-8 years of experience in a similar role, managing a category or sub-brand independently. - Experience working with a brand that has a presence across multiple sales channels. - Experience in marketing and product development for lifestyle brands or products. - Ability to interact effectively with inter-departmental functional teams and deliver business presentations with confidence.
