Demand Planner - eCommerce & Supply Planning

Human Capital Express is partnering with a fast-growing, consumer-focused startup to hire a Demand Planner to drive accurate forecasting, supply alignment, and inventory health across multiple online channels.

Role Overview

The Demand Planner will own demand forecasting, regional allocation, and inventory planning across marketplaces and D2C channels. This role works closely with category, operations, procurement, and finance teams to ensure optimal stock availability and minimal working capital risk.

Key Responsibilities:

- Build demand forecasts using historical sales, seasonality, and sales velocity

- Translate category sales plans into region-wise and platform-wise demand

- Plan inventory allocation across Amazon, Flipkart, Q-commerce and D2C

- Track stock health, DOH, ageing, slow movers and OOS risks

- Support PO planning aligned to lead times, MOQ and production capacity

- Partner with finance on cashflow visibility linked to supply plans

- Publish weekly and monthly stock, DOH and forecast accuracy reports

- Work with category and operations teams to correct inventory imbalances

Required Experience & Skills

- 3-5 years in demand planning, inventory planning or supply planning (e-commerce preferred)

- Strong Excel / Google Sheets and forecasting models

- Hands-on with marketplace inventory panels (Amazon FBA, Flipkart, Q-commerce)

- Strong analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder coordination skills

- Ability to operate in fast-paced, high-ownership environments
