Job Title: Loan Servicing Specialist

Position Summary

The Loan Servicing Specialist is responsible for managing day-to-day loan servicing activities across the loan lifecycle.

This role ensures accurate processing of loan transactions, maintenance of loan records, compliance with regulatory and internal standards, and timely resolution of borrower and stakeholder queries.

The position requires strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Loan Servicing & Account Management

- Process and apply loan payments accurately, including principal, interest, fees, and escrow components.

- Maintain and update loan accounts in servicing systems to ensure data accuracy and completeness.

- Monitor loan balances, payment schedules, interest calculations, and account status.

- Generate loan statements, notices, payoff calculations, and other servicing communications.

- Identify and resolve discrepancies related to payments, balances, or account activity.

Escrow, Insurance & Compliance

- Administer escrow accounts for taxes and insurance, ensuring timely payments and reconciliations.

- Review insurance documentation and ensure coverage remains compliant with loan requirements.

- Ensure all servicing activities adhere to internal policies, regulatory requirements, and service-level standards.

- Support internal and external audits by providing accurate data and documentation.

Customer & Stakeholder Support

- Respond to borrower and stakeholder inquiries through email, phone, or written correspondence.

- Investigate and resolve servicing-related issues in a timely and professional manner.

- Coordinate with internal teams such as risk, legal, collections, and operations to resolve complex cases.

- Provide clear and accurate information to stakeholders regarding loan status and servicing processes.

Reporting & Process Improvement

- Prepare periodic and ad-hoc reports related to loan servicing performance and exceptions.

- Track servicing metrics and highlight trends, risks, or issues requiring attention.

- Identify opportunities to improve processes, reduce errors, and enhance operational efficiency.

- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and quality control activities.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related discipline.

- 3 - 5 years of experience in loan servicing, loan operations, or financial services operations.

- Strong understanding of the loan servicing lifecycle, including payment processing and account maintenance.

- High level of accuracy and attention to detail with strong analytical skills.

- Proficiency in loan servicing systems and standard office tools such as Excel and Word.

- Strong communication skills with a customer-focused and problem-solving approach.

- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a structured, compliance-driven environment.

Preferred Skills

- Knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements related to loan servicing.

- Experience working with large loan portfolios or complex servicing structures.

- Ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.

- Experience supporting audits, reconciliations, and quality assurance reviews.
