Role Overview

The Program Manager - Vendor Development will drive strategic initiatives across the Vendor Development function, focusing on supply network expansion, process excellence, pricing strategy, vendor lifecycle management, and performance governance.

This role goes beyond daily operations and focuses on building scalable supply programs, improving profitability, standardizing processes across clusters, and enabling data-driven decision-making to strengthen Delhivery's transport partner ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

1. Program Strategy & Execution

- Design and drive strategic vendor development programs aligned with business expansion plans.

- Develop scalable frameworks for vendor onboarding, engagement, retention, and performance management.

- Standardize lane development, pricing governance, and supply acquisition models across clusters.

- Own program dashboards and track performance against defined KPIs.

2. Supply Network Expansion

- Plan and execute cluster-level and national supply partner network expansion strategies.

- Define truck-type mix and vendor density models based on projected volumes.

- Drive lead-based supply acquisition programs with strong conversion focus.

3. Vendor Lifecycle Management

- Establish structured vendor discovery, onboarding, and activation processes.

- Develop retention strategies to reduce churn and improve partner stickiness.

- Create incentive programs and engagement mechanisms in collaboration with Product and Finance teams.

- Oversee dispute resolution frameworks and vendor satisfaction initiatives.

4. Pricing & Profitability Governance

- Develop lane pricing frameworks based on market intelligence and cost benchmarks.

- Support RFQ pricing strategy through predictive rate modelling.

- Drive negotiations to ensure long-term lane profitability.

- Monitor cluster-level PnL impact driven by supply cost optimization initiatives.

5. Performance & Service Excellence

- Define SLAs and vendor performance scorecards.

- Monitor fulfillment metrics including placement rates, on-time performance, and cost efficiency.

- Drive corrective action programs for underperforming lanes/vendors.

- Lead training initiatives for supply partners on compliance, technology usage, and business processes.

6. Cross-Functional Collaboration

- Partner with Sales, Operations, Finance, and Product teams to align supply capabilities with demand projections.

- Gather and analyze market intelligence (rate trends, demand shifts, vehicle availability).

- Work with Tech/Product teams to enhance vendor-facing tools and engagement platforms.

7. Team Leadership

- Lead and mentor Vendor Development and Supply teams across clusters.

- Build strong execution discipline and ownership mindset within teams.

- Drive performance culture with clear metrics and accountability.

Key Metrics (Indicative KPIs):

- Lane profitability & cost per km improvement

- Vendor onboarding & activation rate

- Supply partner retention rate

- RFQ win rate

- Truck placement success rate

- SLA adherence & service levels

- Cluster PnL contribution

Who Should Apply?

- 4-10 years of experience in Vendor Development, Supply Chain, Program Management, Operations, or Logistics.

- Strong experience in managing large vendor ecosystems (transport/logistics preferred).

- Demonstrated ability to drive cross-functional programs at scale.

- Strong analytical skills and comfort with data-driven decision-making.

- Proven negotiation and stakeholder management capabilities.

- Experience in pricing strategy and cost optimization is a plus.

- Comfortable working in a high-growth, fast-paced environment.

- Flexible to relocate based on business needs.
