Job Title: Director - Leased Capacity & Network Profitability
Location: Gurgaon
Department: Full Truckload (FTL) / Transport Management
Reports to: Director/Head of Transport Strategy
Role Overview:
As the Director for Leased Capacity, you will be the architect of our "fixed-asset" strategy within the FTL business. Your mission is to shift our procurement DNA from reactive spot-buying to a proactive, leased-capacity model. You will own the end-to-end P&L of the leased fleet, identifying high-potential Origin-Destination (OD) pairs and ensuring that every kilometer driven contributes to our bottom-line margins.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Network Strategy & OD Identification:
- Analyze historical shipment data to identify high-density, high-frequency Origin-Destination (OD) pairs suitable for conversion to fixed/leased capacity.
- Develop a "Route Profitability" framework to decide where to deploy leased vehicles versus relying on the open market.
2. Full P&L Ownership:
- Take 100% accountability for the Leased Capacity P&L, including fixed lease costs, fuel indexing, driver payouts, and maintenance overheads.
- Optimize the "Cost per Tonne-km" (CPTK) and "Revenue per Tonne-km" (RPTK) to ensure the leased fleet outperforms spot-market benchmarks.
3. Cross-Functional Orchestration:
- Supply: Work with procurement teams to source the right vehicle types at competitive lease rates.
- Business Development (BD): Provide the BD teams with competitive pricing based on fixed capacity to win high-volume contracts.
- Customer Service (CS) & Ops: Monitor vehicle turnaround times (TAT) and placement health to ensure maximum utilization of the leased fleet.
4. RFQ & Wallet Share Expansion:
- Scan upcoming Requests for Quotation (RFQs) from enterprise clients to match their demand with our leased network.
- Increase Share of Wallet (SOW) across existing clients by offering "dedicated fleet" solutions that provide them with higher service guarantees.
5. Data-Driven Decision Making:
- Build and maintain complex trackers to monitor daily vehicle performance, margin slippage, and dead-mileage.
- Use data to "course-correct" in real-time if a specific OD pair is underperforming.
Technical & Behavioral Competencies:
The "Must-Haves":
- Advanced Data Mastery: You should be an Excel power-user (Pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Power Query). You don't just "see" data; you see stories and trends within it.
- The "Profit Mindset": You understand that a vehicle standing still is a burning cost. You have a natural instinct for unit economics and margin protection.
- Stakeholder Management: The ability to push the Supply team for better rates while simultaneously pushing BD for better volumes.
The "Delhivery Fit"
- Grit & Passion: We need someone who is obsessed with solving the "Indian Trucking Puzzle" and thrives in a high-growth, high-pressure environment.
- Analytical Rigor: You prefer a spreadsheet over a slide deck. Your decisions are backed by numbers, not "gut feelings."
