Role Overview:

The National Key Account Manager for Modern Trade will spearhead the companys growth strategy across major national retail chains. Based in Mumbai, this role involves managing high-stakes relationships with key retail partners to drive revenue, enhance brand visibility, and ensure optimal product placement. You will collaborate closely with internal cross-functional teams, including supply chain, marketing, and finance, to execute sales plans that align with the companys broader commercial objectives. By translating market insights into actionable account strategies, you will play a pivotal role in expanding Del Montes footprint in the modern trade ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and execute comprehensive annual business plans for DM accounts to achieve top-line revenue targets and market share growth.

- Negotiate annual trading terms, promotional calendars, and shelf-space agreements with retail partners to maximize profitability and brand presence.

- Lead category management initiatives by analyzing consumer data and shopper insights to optimize product assortment and planogram execution.

- Drive sales planning and forecasting processes to ensure high service levels and minimize stock-outs across all retail touchpoints.

- Monitor competitor activities and market trends to proactively adjust sales strategies and maintain a competitive edge in the category.

Required Skillset:

- Demonstrated expertise in managing large-scale national accounts within the FMCG sector, with a deep understanding of direct modern trade dynamics.

- Proven ability to translate complex data sets into strategic sales plans that drive measurable business outcomes.

- Strong negotiation and influencing skills, with the ability to navigate high-pressure environments and secure mutually beneficial agreements.

- Exceptional stakeholder management capabilities, enabling seamless collaboration across internal departments and external retail partners.

- Proficiency in financial acumen, specifically regarding P&L management, trade margins, and promotional budget optimization.

- A post-graduate degree in Management from a premier business school is highly preferred.

- Candidates must possess 8+ years of relevant experience in sales and key account management within the consumer goods industry.

- Ability to work effectively in an on-site environment, demonstrating high levels of professional maturity and leadership.
