- Degreed is hiring a Director of Engineering to lead our Data Engineering and Reporting functions.
- This role will unify two critical teams under one leader - accelerating the delivery of client-facing analytics, strengthening our data foundation, and driving cost efficiency at scale.
- You'll play a key role in enabling trustworthy, transparent, and high-impact reporting that directly influences customer retention, renewals, and expansion.
- You'll also help lay the groundwork for AI-powered analytics and deeper client insights, shaping the future of how Degreed delivers data to both internal and external users.
- This is a highly cross-functional role, requiring close collaboration with Product, Engineering, Customer Success, and Security teams.
- You'll report on impact, own service reliability, and foster a strong culture of technical excellence, scalability, and accountability.
Key Skills:
- Minimum Experience: 15 years in data engineering, analytics, or enterprise-scale reporting, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Deep expertise in Data Engineering, Analytics, and Enterprise Reporting.
- Strong experience with modern data platforms, including Snowflake, ELT, and Data Warehousing.
- Proven track record of leading high-performing engineering teams and building scalable data infrastructure.
- Experience delivering BI and analytics solutions with a focus on client value and transparency.
- Familiarity with AI/ML-driven use cases and enabling insights at scale.
- Strong understanding of data governance, privacy, compliance, and security best practices.
- Executive-level communication and the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders.
- Skilled in driving operational efficiency, managing technical debt, and measuring business impact.
