Description:


- The Dean - Engineering is responsible for guiding the development and execution of academic, research and outreach activities across multiple engineering programs including (but not limited to) Mechanical, Electrical & Computer Science Engineering. The incumbent is expected to foster academic excellence, innovation, regulatory compliance and strong industry-academic collaboration in line with the vision of the University.

- Provide strategic direction across engineering programs in curriculum design, pedagogy, academic innovation, and cross-disciplinary integration.

- Align all programs with national regulatory standards (AICTE/UGC) and global best practices.

- Facilitate cross-stream collaboration and drive consistency in academic planning across departments.

- Oversee development and periodic revision of curricula to ensure industry relevance, academic rigor and outcome-based education.

- Ensure that the streams meet accreditation norms such as AICTE, NBA and NAAC.

- Promote integration of emerging technologies (e.g., AI, Robotics, Sustainability) across programs.

- Lead recruitment of high-quality faculty across engineering streams.

- Foster continuous faculty development through mentoring, research incentives and teaching innovation.

- Encourage faculty and students to pursue cutting-edge research and interdisciplinary projects.

- Develop state-of-the-art lab infrastructure and ensure optimal utilization across streams.

- Promote filing of patents, publications and externally funded projects.

- Oversee academic progression, mentoring and student support mechanisms across their engineering disciplines.

- Promote experiential learning, design challenges and participation in technical competitions.

- Coordinate closely with the Placement Cell for internship and career readiness.

- Build long-term partnerships with core engineering industries, R&D labs and academic bodies.

- Facilitate guest lectures, live projects, internships and sponsored research across streams.

- Engage with advisory boards to keep programs industry-aligned.

- Ensure optimal allocation and utilization of teaching, lab and research resources across streams.

- Oversee planning and budgeting for infrastructure upgrades and capacity expansion.

- Ensure compliance with all applicable academic, administrative, and quality assurance frameworks.

- Master's in any related field.
