Required Education qualifications:
Doctoral/Master's or equivalent in higher education administration, educational leadership, sustainability, architecture, design, urban planning, technology, humanities or related disciplines.15-20 years in senior academic leadership roles in an educational setting in India or abroad with proven experience in academic operations, curriculum design, stakeholder management, policy design and implementation, accreditation, academic finances and academic staffing.
Key Responsibility Areas (KRAs):
- Academic Policy and Frameworks: Collaborate with programme leads, faculty, and administrative teams.Establish and implement academic policies, governance structures, and quality assurance frameworks.
- Curriculum and Pedagogy: Drive development of innovative, interdisciplinary curricula.Partner with schools and programme leads for effective pedagogical strategies.
- Teaching and Learning Excellence: Promote best practices in automated workflows and user-friendly digital tools.Enhance teaching-learning experiences including access to schedules, coursework, grades, feedback, virtual classrooms, and personalised learning pathways.
- ERP Implementation and Optimisation: Oversee the implementation and enhancement of an integrated ERP system.Streamline operations like student records, faculty management, admissions, curriculum planning, and assessments.
- Research and Consultancy Promotion: Strengthen research output and consultancy initiatives.Foster faculty and student engagement in impactful academic work.
- Faculty Recruitment, Development and Performance: Design and oversee recruitment, development programmes, performance reviews, and succession planning.Collaborate with deans and programme leads.
- Academic Administration and Coordination: Manage academic operations including workload, scheduling, and policy compliance.Use centralised data tools for real-time tracking.
- Handbooks and Training: Develop, implement, and update stakeholder handbooks.Share best practices for smooth academic operations.
- Budget and Resource Management: Oversee academic budgeting and financial planning.Ensure optimal resource allocation for academic programmes.
- Leadership and Governance: Provide strategic leadership in appointments, resource generation, and operations.Align academic functions with University's vision and goals.
- Stakeholder Engagement and Reporting: Engage with Academic Council, Board of Studies, senior leadership, and governing bodies.Provide updates on academic affairs and institutional progress.
- Outreach: Collaborate with admissions and marketing to communicate academic value.Support engagement activities to attract high-calibre applicants.
- Other Responsibilities: Undertake additional duties as assigned by Provost, President, or governing bodies.Contribute to the University's strategic growth plans.
Key Skills:
- The successful candidate should have demonstrated ability using higher education policies, learning management systems and data to design, plan, implement and manage university wide academic operations to advance the University's standing.
- Excellent communication skills to engage with students, faculty, management and partner organisations, ensuring a supportive and inclusive teaching-learning experience.Ability to write quality proposals/policies/reports, and ability to work effectively in teams.
