About the Role:

We are looking for a seasoned Manager / Senior Manager - Corporate Sales (Government Advertising - South) to drive advertisement revenue from Government departments, PSUs, autonomous bodies, and educational institutions across South India. Based in Hyderabad, with primary responsibility for Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu, this role requires deep understanding of government advertising ecosystems, strong stakeholder relationships, and the ability to deliver compliant, solution-oriented media campaigns across print and integrated platforms.

You will play a critical role in expanding government business, managing large revenue portfolios, and positioning the organization as a trusted media partner for PSUs & Govt. communication.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Sales Strategy & Revenue Growth:

- Define and execute revenue plans for Government, PSU, and institutional advertising across South India, with focus on Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.

- Own and manage an annual revenue portfolio for Government & PSU business.

- Identify new revenue opportunities arising from government budgets, schemes, tenders, policy announcements, and special communication campaigns.

- Drive consistent achievement and over-achievement of assigned revenue targets.

Client Acquisition & Relationship Management:

- Generate advertisement revenue from State Government departments, PSUs, Boards, Corporations, Urban Local Bodies, and Educational Institutions.

- Corporations, Urban Local Bodies, and Educational Institutions.

- Build and maintain strong relationships with key government stakeholders, including Information Officers, I&PR officials, and authorized advertising agencies.

- Drive repeat and long-term business by aligning media offerings with government communication objectives.

Business Development & Innovation

- Conceptualize and sell innovative advertising solutions including special features, supplements, government-focused campaigns, and integrated media offerings.

- Track and leverage large-scale government initiatives, development programs, and public awareness drives.

- Monitor competitor activity and market dynamics to support pricing and sales strategy.

Sales Operations & Execution

- Manage the end-to-end sales lifecycle including client meetings, proposals, approvals, negotiations, releases, billing, and collections.

- Coordinate closely with internal teams (Editorial, Creative, Operations, Finance, Release) to ensure timely and compliant campaign execution.

- Ensure adherence to release schedules, government norms, rate cards, and quality standards.

Government Advertising Processes & Compliance

- Handle state and central government advertising processes including I&PR systems, documentation, approvals, billing, and payment follow-ups.

- Ensure compliance with applicable state and central government advertising guidelines and financial procedures.

- Track releases, outstanding payments, and collections to ensure revenue realization.

Performance Tracking & Reporting

- Prepare daily call reports, weekly progress updates, monthly projections, and annual business plans.

- Analyze performance trends and MIS data to identify gaps and optimization opportunities.

- Share market intelligence, competitor insights, and policy updates with senior management.

Market Intelligence & Stakeholder Collaboration

- Track government budgets, tenders, schemes, and communication initiatives across South India.

- Contribute to the evolution of the Government & Education vertical strategy for the region.

- Guide and mentor junior sales team members, where applicable, and collaborate across functions to deliver high-impact outcomes.

Experience Required:

- 12-20+ years of experience in media sales, preferably in Government / PSU advertising.

- Strong exposure to Andhra Pradesh and/or Tamil Nadu government advertising systems.

- Proven track record of managing large government revenue portfolios and collections.

- Experience in Print Media or Integrated Media organizations preferred.

Qualification:

- Graduate in any discipline.

- Postgraduate qualification.
