Role Overview:

- The Data Scientist Operations will play a key role in transforming operational processes through advanced analytics and data-driven decision-making. You will be part of a vibrant team with a clear mission to deliver industry-leading decision intelligence solutions enabled by Artificial Intelligence to optimize production, drive operational efficiency, and enhance the workforce across the Kraft Heinz manufacturing network.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Advanced Analytics and Data Modeling:

- Support the advancement of our Digital Twin Process Optimization initiatives by developing models for asset simulation, machine set-point optimization, and autonomous closed-loop control. Prior experience in manufacturing and/or R&D intensive industries is highly desired.

- Leverage machine learning and statistical techniques to understand manufacturing processes with the objective of increasing yield, reducing waste, improve production planning, and achieving our ESG goals.

- Build algorithms to predict and mitigate risks in operational processes.

- Support the advancement of our state-of-the-art solutions providing manufacturing personnel data driven recommendations and documentation insights by leveraging your NLP and LLM expertise.

2. Operational Efficiency:

- Analyze plant floor manufacturing data demonstrating significant attention to detail, and a learning attitude to collaborate with subject matter experts to identify bottlenecks and recommend process improvements.

- Ability to understand the business value of the solutions developed, which can range from waste reduction, cost optimization, and improved throughput.

- Support manufacturing production issue resolution by conducting root cause analyses for operational inefficiencies and develop actionable insights based on historical data.

3. Collaboration with Stakeholders:

- Ability to seamlessly collaborate with plant floor operators, shift supervisors, plant managers, and enterprise leaders. You will get opportunities to present your work and should possess a nascent understanding of content tailoring based on the target audience.

- Partner with operations, supply chain, and procurement teams to understand analytical needs and deliver insights.

- Collaborate with IT and data engineering teams to ensure data availability and accuracy.

4. Data Management and Tools:

- Work with noisy manufacturing data from process historians, SCADA systems, and on-prem or cloud data repositories. You will analyze multiple datasets, in many cases requiring thorough cleaning and preprocessing algorithms.

- Significant familiarity with one or many of the following: ERP, MES, PLC, Quality Management Systems, and Electronic Notebooks in the context of new product development and commercialization, manufacturing issue resolution and operations improvement.
