Role Overview:

We are seeking a high-caliber Data Scientist to join our analytics team in Mumbai/Navi Mumbai to drive innovation within our credit risk framework. In this role, you will be responsible for developing sophisticated analytical solutions that translate complex data into actionable business intelligence. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, risk officers, and engineering leads, to integrate predictive models directly into our core lending infrastructure. Your work will directly influence our risk appetite, optimize capital allocation, and enhance the overall financial health of the organization by identifying patterns that mitigate exposure and improve customer creditworthiness.

Key Responsibilities:

- Design and deploy robust predictive models to assess borrower behavior, ensuring the organization maintains a healthy risk profile while maximizing portfolio growth.

- Engineer end-to-end machine learning pipelines that automate credit decisioning, reducing manual intervention and improving the speed of service for our customers.

- Conduct deep-dive exploratory data analysis on large-scale datasets to uncover hidden trends in credit risk, providing stakeholders with clear, data-backed recommendations.

- Collaborate with the risk management team to refine existing scoring models, ensuring all outputs align with regulatory requirements and internal risk policies.

- Monitor model performance in production environments, proactively identifying drift and implementing necessary retraining strategies to maintain high predictive accuracy.

Required Skillset:

- Demonstrated expertise in building and validating complex predictive models, with a specific focus on credit risk and behavioral scoring.

- Proficiency in machine learning frameworks and statistical programming languages, enabling the translation of raw data into high-impact business insights.

- Strong ability to communicate technical findings to non-technical stakeholders, ensuring that data-driven strategies are understood and adopted across the business.

- A solid academic foundation in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field, which informs your rigorous approach to data modeling.

- Proven capability to thrive in a hybrid work environment, balancing independent research with collaborative team efforts in our Mumbai/Navi Mumbai offices.

- 2 - 5 years of hands-on experience in applying advanced data science techniques to solve real-world financial or risk-related problems.
