Role: The Data Engineer, preferably with Carbon Credits Expertise, will be responsible for taking end-to-end accountability for the entire data infrastructure, from field collection to reporting. In this role, you will design, implement, and maintain data systems that are not only efficient and scalable but also user friendly for field operators, usually farmers. Key responsibilities End-to-End Data System Ownership: - Take full accountability for the design, development, and maintenance of the entire data infrastructure. - Get process implemented on the field. Occasional field visits are part of the job. - Collaboration with Operations, Product and Business Teams Desirable skills and experience - Minimum of 3+ years of experience in data engineering or a related field. - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Statistics, Computer Science or a related field. - Proven experience in designing and managing end-to-end data systems, data pipeline development and data integration from diverse sources, preferably in a startup environment. - Experience with MRV systems and knowledge of the carbon credits market is preferred - Experience with industrial data collection systems and IoT devices is preferred. - Proficiency in programming languages such as Python (with libraries like Pandas, NumPy), SQL, and familiarity with data pipeline tools. - Familiarity with big data processing tools and frameworks (e.g., Apache Spark, Hadoop). - Strong understanding of database systems (both SQL and NoSQL) and data warehousing solutions. - Knowledge of cloud platforms and services (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform), especially related to data services. - Understanding of data security, privacy, and compliance best practices. - Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
