Role Overview:

As the Data Head - Financial Services, you will be at the forefront of driving data-driven decision-making within our organization in Nigeria. Your day-to-day will involve leading a team of data professionals, developing and implementing data strategies, and ensuring the effective management and utilization of data assets. You will collaborate closely with various stakeholders, including business leaders, financial analysts, and technology teams, to understand their data needs and deliver actionable insights. Ultimately, your work will directly impact our ability to make informed financial decisions, optimize business processes, and enhance customer experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and execute a comprehensive data strategy aligned with the overall business objectives of the financial services division, ensuring data quality, governance, and security.

- Lead and mentor a team of data analysts, data scientists, and data engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

- Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify data-driven opportunities for revenue growth, cost optimization, and risk mitigation.

- Design and implement data models and ETL processes to integrate data from various sources into a centralized data warehouse.

- Develop and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI and Tableau to provide stakeholders with real-time insights into key performance indicators (KPIs).

- Conduct in-depth financial analysis and business analysis to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in financial data, providing actionable recommendations to management.

- Ensure compliance with relevant data privacy regulations and industry best practices.

- Oversee the development and implementation of data governance policies and procedures to maintain data integrity and accuracy.

Required Skillset:

- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement data strategies that align with business objectives and drive measurable results.

- Proven expertise in data modeling, data warehousing, and ETL processes.

- Strong proficiency in SQL and Python for data analysis and manipulation.

- Excellent skills in developing interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI and Tableau.

- In-depth knowledge of financial analysis and business analysis techniques.

- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex data insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.

- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing data team.

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Finance, or Economics.

- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in data analytics, data management, or financial analysis within the financial services industry.
