
Role Overview :
As the Data Head, you will serve as the strategic architect of our data ecosystem in Nigeria, steering the organization toward a data-driven future. You will lead the end-to-end data lifecycle, from ingestion and governance to advanced analytics and visualization, ensuring that our information assets are secure, scalable, and actionable.
You will work closely with C-suite executives, product managers, and engineering teams to translate complex business challenges into robust data solutions. By fostering a culture of data literacy and precision, you will directly influence strategic decision-making, optimize operational efficiency, and drive significant competitive advantage for our customers across the region.
Key Responsibilities :
- Design and implement a comprehensive data architecture that supports high-volume processing and real-time analytics to ensure business scalability.
- Establish and enforce rigorous data governance frameworks to maintain data integrity, security, and compliance with local and international regulatory standards.
- Lead cross-functional teams in developing advanced data science models and predictive analytics to uncover hidden market opportunities and improve customer retention.
- Oversee the development of intuitive business intelligence dashboards that provide stakeholders with clear, actionable insights into key performance indicators.
- Manage the end-to-end data management lifecycle, ensuring that data pipelines are optimized for performance and reliability across all business units.
- Collaborate with department heads to align data initiatives with long-term corporate goals, ensuring that technical investments yield measurable business outcomes.
Required Skillset :
- Demonstrated expertise in designing scalable data architectures and managing complex data ecosystems within high-growth environments.
- Proven ability to translate technical data findings into compelling narratives for non-technical stakeholders, facilitating informed executive decision-making.
- Strong leadership capabilities in mentoring high-performing teams and fostering a collaborative, innovation-led work culture.
- Advanced proficiency in modern data visualization tools and business intelligence platforms to drive transparency and operational clarity.
- Deep understanding of data governance principles, including data quality management, metadata management, and regulatory compliance.
- A Masters degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field from a top-tier institution is preferred.
- Exceptional adaptability to the dynamic Nigerian business landscape, with the ability to navigate on-site operational requirements while managing distributed technical teams.
