Data Analyst - SQL

Job Overview:

- We are seeking a proactive Data Analyst to join our team.

- In this role, you will be responsible for translating business problems into actionable analysis, acquiring and preparing data, deriving insights, and communicating findings effectively.

- You'll work with structured data environments, utilizing tools like SQL and Excel for manipulation and Tableau or Quicksight for visualization, to support data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

- Define Problem & Solution Framework: Translate basic business problem statements into clear analysis requirements and influence the implementation of specified analytical approaches.

- Develop & Apply Domain/Process Expertise: Develop and apply in-depth knowledge of the data and business processes within your area of expertise.

- Data Acquisition: Have an in-depth understanding of available data.

- Efficiently pull needed data using standard query syntax and periodically identify more advanced query optimization methods.

- Cross-check pulled data against other published sources for fidelity.

- Analysis/Insight: Solve well-defined tasks with clear requirements and limited ambiguity.

- Utilize basic data-manipulation tools and convert raw data into analysis-ready formats through descriptive statistics, aggregations, and pivots.

- Derive actionable recommendations from analysis that directly impact processes or teams.

- Communication/Influence: Implement and deploy data visualization or communication tools, such as metrics dashboards, presentations, and flashes.

- Communicate clearly to stakeholders on project requirements and status.

- Work with business stakeholders to help them understand the value and implications of the analysis.

- Project Management: Effectively manage expectations, prioritize your workload, and communicate project status updates.

- Provide visibility to your manager regarding project timelines and deliverables, and escalate problems and roadblocks as needed.

Technical Skill Requirements:

- Data Manipulation: Strong proficiency in Excel (including advanced functions and data modeling) and SQL (for querying, joining, and manipulating large datasets).

- Data Visualization: Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Amazon Quicksight to create compelling reports and dashboards
