Damco - Product Owner

JOB DESCRIPTION:

- Minimum 12-16 years of experience in Health Insurance for GCC (Middle East) Markets, with at least 3-5 years in a Product Owner or similar leadership role.

- Strong understanding of payer-side processes: eligibility verification, enrollments, claims adjudication, pre-authorization, provider networks, EDI, and member portals.

- Exposure to regulatory frameworks such as:

- US: HIPAA, ACA, CMS rules, 834/837 transactions

- GCC: DHA/HAAD regulations, e-claims compliance

Must have Skill set:

- Good understanding of Health Insurance systems: Core Admin (claims, billing, policy), CRM, and portals.

- Experience writing epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria in Agile environments (Scrum or SAFe).

- Strong backlog management skills - grooming, prioritizing, and refining user stories based on business value.

- Ability to translate high-level business goals into incremental deliverables.

- Experience with tools like JIRA, Confluence, Figma, or Azure DevOps.

- Understanding of API-based integration between payer systems and third-party platforms (e.g., provider portals, pharmacy systems).

- Proven ability to engage and influence cross-functional teams: developers, QA, UX, business, compliance, and leadership.

- Strong communication skills to interface with clients, end-users, and third-party vendors.

- Experience leading product workshops, joint requirement sessions (JAD), or design sprints.

Good to have Skill set:

- Own and drive the product roadmap aligned with health domain goals

- Prioritize the backlog based on regulatory timelines, business needs, and tech feasibility

- Collaborate with stakeholders to define MVPs and plan releases

- Ensure all deliverables meet regulatory, functional, and usability expectations

- Represent the voice of the customer throughout the design and development lifecycle

- Validate features through demo sessions and UAT support

- Experience working with health tech platforms like TriZetto, Facets, HealthEdge, or custom-built PAS systems.

- Familiarity with value-based care, wellness programs, or digital health initiatives.

- Exposure to data privacy laws (GDPR, CCPA) beyond HIPAA.

- PO Certification: CSPO, SAFe POPM, or equivalent.

- Experience supporting mobile/web platform products for members or providers.
