Sustainability Analyst Dalton Investments, a market leading Asian and emerging markets investment firm, is seeking candidates to join its growing sustainability team. This is an attractive opportunity to join an innovative and entrepreneurial asset manager to work alongside the firm's Chief Sustainability Officer (CSO) to drive the firm's sustainability research, client reporting, and marketing efforts. The key role responsibilities include: - Working with the CSO to complete due diligence on portfolio companies. - Internal database management, where Excel and VBA proficiency are essential. - Helping the firm's client service team to meet its sustainability reporting obligations. - Assisting the investor relations team with marketing queries and Requests for Proposal. - Aiding the CSO in enhancing voting and reporting policies and take a key role in their implementation. - Building and maintaining a database of the firm's voting activity for client reporting purposes. - Aiding the CSO in ensuring the implementation of the firm's sustainability policy. The ideal candidate - A passion for sustainable investing - Three to five years' experience working within either the asset management, sustainability research, or investment consulting industries. - A bachelor's degree or higher (preferably in a numerate discipline), post graduate qualifications such as the CFA Certificate in Sustainable investing are also welcomed. - A working knowledge of key sustainability research developments and regulations e.g. Article 8, Principal Adverse Impact indicators, Taskforce for Climate Related Disclosures, Sustainability Accounting Standards. - A basic understanding of climate transition and physical risk models. - High proficiency in excel and visual basic. A working knowledge of Bloomberg, Refinitiv, MSCI ESG Research Manager, and python is desirable but not essential. - Hard working and excellent at managing to tight deadlines. - Self-sufficient and willing to work across multiple time zones and remotely. - English is the working language of the company and therefore high proficiency in English is essential. Fluency in Chinese, Japanese or Korean will be viewed favourably.
