About the company:

DailyObjects is a design-driven lifestyle brand that creates functional, high-quality tech accessories, home office solutions, and travel gear. By blending aesthetics with utility, the company has established a strong presence in the direct-to-consumer space, catering to modern professionals and design enthusiasts.

With our offline footprint expanding rapidly across India, we are looking for a Retail Head who can build and lead Retail as a significant growth engine for the business.

The Role:

As the Retail Head, you will have end-to-end ownership of the Retail business and P&L, i.e. from defining the retail strategy and expansion roadmap to store economics, revenue, profitability, operations, customer experience and team performance.

You will be responsible for taking DailyObjects' offline business to the next level - building a scalable retail engine, identifying the right markets and locations, opening stores that make business sense, and ensuring every store delivers a strong customer and brand experience.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Retail P&L Ownership:

- Own the complete Retail P&L and be accountable for revenue, margins, costs and profitability.

- Drive store-level and overall retail profitability through revenue growth, productivity and cost optimisation.

- Define and track key business metrics including Sales, Like-for-Like Growth, EBITDA, Gross-Margin, Revenue/Sq. Ft., Conversion, ATV, UPT, Footfall and Store Productivity.

- Build annual and monthly retail budgets and ensure performance against business plans.

- Identify opportunities to improve store economics and ROI.

2. Retail Strategy & Growth:

- Develop the overall Retail strategy and 3-5 year growth roadmap for DailyObjects.

- Define the role of offline retail within the larger D2C business.

- Build the right mix of flagship stores, high-street stores, malls, experience-led formats and other offline channels.

- Identify opportunities to increase retail contribution to the overall business.

- Use customer, market and business data to continuously refine the retail strategy.

3. Expansion & New Store Development:

- Own the end-to-end store expansion charter across India.

- Identify priority cities, catchments, malls and high-street locations for expansion.

- Drive site identification, evaluation, commercial negotiations and closures.

- Develop frameworks for store viability, catchment analysis, rental economics and expected ROI.

- Work closely with internal teams and external partners on lease negotiations, design, capex, fit-outs and store launches.

- Build a predictable and scalable new-store-opening pipeline.

- Ensure every new store meets defined commercial and brand standards before launch.

4. Retail Operations:

- Own the operational performance of all DailyObjects stores.

- Build strong SOPs and operating mechanisms across stores.

- Ensure consistency in sales processes, inventory management, VM, customer experience, store hygiene and operational discipline.

- Drive store productivity and ensure stores consistently meet business targets.

- Identify operational bottlenecks and build scalable solutions as the network grows.

- Establish strong review mechanisms for store and regional performance.

5. Customer Experience:

- Build an offline customer experience that reflects the DailyObjects brand - design-led, contemporary, distinctive and high-energy.

- Define and improve customer journey across stores.

- Track customer feedback, NPS/CSAT and other experience metrics.

- Work closely with Brand, Product, Marketing and CX teams to create a seamless online + offline customer experience.

- Ensure stores become more than transactional spaces and contribute meaningfully to brand building.

6. People & Team Leadership:

- Build and lead a high-performing Retail organisation.

- Own the retail organisation structure, hiring strategy and talent pipeline.

- Hire, coach and develop Store Managers, Area/Regional Managers and other retail leadership.

- Establish clear KRAs, incentives and performance management mechanisms.

- Build a strong culture of ownership, sales orientation, customer obsession and operational excellence.

- Develop a succession pipeline for critical retail roles.

7. Inventory & Commercial Management:

- Partner closely with Supply Chain, Merchandising and Planning teams to ensure optimum inventory availability across stores.

- Drive sell-through, ageing reduction, stock turns and inventory productivity.

- Ensure the right assortment is available at the right store and at the right time.

- Build mechanisms to minimise stock-outs, excess inventory and markdown dependency.

8. Cross-Functional Leadership:

- Work closely with CEO/Leadership for business strategy and growth.

- Work closely with Finance for P&L, budgets, margins and business planning.

- Work closely with Brand & Marketing for retail marketing, launches and brand experience.

- Work closely with Operations for inventory availability and replenishment.

- Work closely with Design & Projects for store design, capex and execution.

- Work closely with HR for organisation building and talent.

- Work closely with Technology/Analytics for retail dashboards, data and productivity.

- The role requires the ability to bring multiple teams together and drive outcomes without getting trapped in functional silos.

What We're Looking For:

- 15+ years of experience in retail, preferably with significant experience leading multi-store retail businesses.

- Proven experience in end-to-end P&L ownership.

- Strong understanding of retail expansion, real estate, store economics and operations.

- Experience scaling a retail network across multiple cities.

- Strong commercial and financial acumen.

- Ability to balance brand, customer experience and profitability.

- Strong understanding of retail metrics and store productivity.

- Experience building and leading large retail teams.

- Strong negotiation skills, particularly around real estate and commercial partnerships.

- Highly data-driven, entrepreneurial and execution-oriented.

- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Ideal Background:

We would be particularly interested in leaders who have worked across fashion, lifestyle, consumer, premium/new-age brands, D2C, QSR or high-growth retail businesses and understand how to build a differentiated consumer experience while keeping a sharp eye on retail economics.

Experience with rapid store expansion and scaling a business from an early/mid-stage retail network into a significantly larger footprint would be highly valuable.
