We are looking for a highly experienced and strategic Operations & Warehouse Director who will lead end-to-end supply chain, warehousing, fulfilment, logistics, and operational excellence for a fast-growing E-commerce / D2C brand. This role is critical for building scalable systems, ensuring seamless customer experience, and driving operational efficiency as we expand.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Operations Strategy & Leadership:
- Build and implement long-term operations strategy aligned with brand growth (- 500-1000 Cr scale).
- Own demand planning, capacity planning, supply chain optimization and operational KPIs.
- Establish SOPs across procurement, production, QC, inventory, dispatch and returns.
- Lead cross-functional collaboration with Product, Marketing, Finance & Customer Experience teams.
2. Warehouse & Fulfillment Management:
- Manage end-to-end warehouse operations: inbound, storage, outbound, dispatch, WMS, QC.
- Design and optimize warehouse layout, flow, and automation for speed & accuracy.
- Drive 99.5%+ order accuracy, <24 hr dispatch SLA, and best-in-class fulfillment metrics.
- Implement lean processes to reduce cost per order and increase efficiency.
3. Supply Chain & Vendor Management:
- Build robust network of suppliers, 3PL partners, packaging vendors, and logistics providers.
- Negotiate contracts, rates, and service-level agreements.
- Ensure consistent availability of materials and finished goods through effective forecasting.
4. Logistics & Last-Mile Delivery:
- Oversee shipping strategy across courier partners, same-day/next-day delivery, COD management, and returns.
- Reduce RTO %, improve delivery speed, and enhance customer delivery experience.
- Monitor performance through dashboards & analytics.
5. Quality Control & Compliance:
- Set up rigorous quality control across production, inbound and outbound operations.
- Ensure compliance with safety, labor laws, GST, and warehouse standards.
- Drive regular audits and process checks.
6. Team Leadership & Culture:
- Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing operations and warehouse team.
- Create a culture of speed, ownership, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Implement training programs and clear performance metrics.
Key Requirements:
1) 10-18 years experience in Operations / Supply Chain within E-commerce, D2C, FMCG, or Consumer Tech.
2) Proven experience scaling operations to high order volumes.
3) Strong knowledge of WMS, forecasting tools, 3PL management, and automation systems.
4) Hands-on experience with large warehouses (50,000-200,000+ sq ft).
5) Strong analytical mindset with ability to drive data-led decision making.
6) Excellent leadership, communication, and vendor negotiation skills.
7) Prior P&L responsibility preferred.
