Job Summary:

The Head - Training & Placement Cell (TPC) will lead end-to-end placement operations for IT, Tech, and skill-based programs.

This role is responsible for making students job-ready for the IT industry, managing corporate partnerships, executing campus placement drives, and ensuring strong placement outcomes across domains such as Software Development, Data Science, AI, Cyber Security, Cloud, DevOps, and Digital Marketing.

Key Responsibilities:

Student Placement Readiness (IT & Tech Focus):

Design and implement placement-readiness programs covering:

- Technical skills validation

- Coding tests & hands-on assessments

- Aptitude, communication, and interview preparation

- Conduct mock technical interviews, HR mocks, coding rounds, and project evaluations.

- Ensure students are trained on resume building, GitHub/portfolio projects, LinkedIn optimisation, and interview etiquette.

- Evaluate student readiness based on skills, projects, certifications, and performance metrics.

Campus Placement Drives & Hiring Operations:

Plan and execute on-campus and virtual placement drives for IT companies, startups, and MNCs.

Coordinate with recruiters for job roles such as:

- Software Developer / Full Stack Developer

- Data Analyst / Data Scientist

- AI / ML Engineer

- Cyber Security Analyst

- Cloud / DevOps Engineer

- Digital Marketing Executive

- Manage end-to-end drive execution: pre-placement talks, technical tests, interviews, and offer rollouts.

- Track placement success rate, CTC offered, domain-wise placements, and joining confirmations.

Corporate & Industry Partnerships (IT Sector):

- Build and maintain strong relationships with IT companies, startups, product firms, service companies, and HR consultancies.

- Conduct regular company visits for placement tie-ups, internships, live projects, and hiring collaborations.

- Invite industry professionals for guest lectures, tech talks, hackathons, and recruitment events.

- Align institute's curriculum with current IT industry demands and emerging technologies.

Database, CRM & Placement Analytics:

Maintain a structured student placement database, including:


- Skills, projects, certifications

- Mock performance and placement readiness status

- Placement offers and joining details

- Maintain recruiter/company database with hiring history and feedback.

- Use Excel / CRM tools to generate placement reports, dashboards, and MIS for management.

Career Guidance & Employability Development:

- Provide career counselling for IT career paths and role-based preparation.

- Guide students on project selection, domain specialisation, freelancing, and internship opportunities.

- Motivate students to achieve placement benchmarks and industry expectations.

Team Leadership & Coordination:

- Lead and manage placement coordinators, counsellors, and support staff.

- Coordinate with technical trainers and academic heads to bridge skill gaps.

- Set placement targets and ensure continuous improvement in outcomes.

Skills & Competencies:

- Strong understanding of IT hiring processes and tech skill requirements.

- Knowledge of modern tech stacks, tools, and industry trends.

- Excellent communication, negotiation, and corporate engagement skills.

- Data-driven mindset with strong reporting & tracking skills.

- Leadership and mentoring abilities.

Qualification & Experience:

- Bachelors / Masters degree (MBA / MCA / M.Tech preferred).

- 4-8 years of experience in IT training & placement, tech recruitment, or career services.

- Prior experience with IT institutes, skill development centres, or EdTech platforms is highly preferred.

Key Success Metrics (KPIs):

- Student placement percentage & quality of roles.

- Number of active hiring partners.

- Average CTC & domain-wise placements.

- Student placement readiness scores.
