Overview :

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Head - Testing & Commissioning (T&C) to lead end-to-end commissioning activities for mission-critical infrastructure, including large-scale Data Centers. The role will be responsible for ensuring all Electrical and Mechanical systems are installed, tested, and commissioned in line with design intent, safety standards, and operational requirements.

The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in commissioning methodologies, system integration, international standards, and stakeholder management, along with strong leadership capabilities to drive performance across multiple projects.

Key Responsibilities :

Leadership & Strategy :

- Lead and manage the Testing & Commissioning (Cx) function across multiple projects.

- Define and implement Cx strategies, processes, and best practices for both Electrical and Mechanical systems.

- Build, mentor, and lead high-performing Cx teams, vendors, and subcontractors.

- Drive continuous improvement in commissioning quality, timelines, and safety.

Project Execution & Delivery :

- Oversee end-to-end commissioning of large-scale Data Center projects (Electrical & Mechanical systems).

- Ensure all systems are commissioned as per design intent, specifications, and operational readiness requirements.

- Plan and allocate resources, tools, and manpower in line with project schedules.

- Coordinate with Design, Execution, OEMs, Consultants, and Clients for seamless project delivery.

- Monitor project progress and ensure adherence to timelines, cost, and quality benchmarks.

Electrical Systems (Core Expertise) :

Oversee commissioning of :

i. HV/LV Panels, Transformers, Switchgear

ii. UPS Systems, DG Sets, Synchronization Systems

iii. Electrical Distribution Systems

iv. Protective Relays & Schemes

v. Earthing & Lightning Protection Systems

Review and validate :

i. SLDs, Control Schematics, Protection Coordination

ii. Testing procedures and reports

- Lead FAT, SAT, Pre-IST & IST activities and ensure compliance.

Mechanical Systems (Mandatory Coverage) :

Oversee commissioning of :

i. HVAC Systems (Chillers, CRAH/CRAC Units, Cooling Towers)

ii. Pumps, Piping Systems & Valves

iii. Fire Protection & Detection Systems

iv. BMS/IBMS Integrated Systems

- Validate system performance, load conditions, redundancy, and failover scenarios.

- Ensure system sequence of operations aligns with design philosophy.

Testing, Validation & Documentation :

Review and approve :

i. FAT / FWT reports and closure of observations

ii. SAT reports prior to client submission

iii. IST scripts, results, and performance benchmarks

- Ensure all snag closures in coordination with execution teams.

- Drive preparation and submission of Cx handover documentation to Operations.

- Obtain final client sign-offs and certifications.

Quality, Safety & Compliance :

- Ensure commissioning activities comply with :

i. National & International standards (IEC, IEEE, ASHRAE, NFPA, etc.)

ii. Statutory and regulatory requirements

- Enforce safe execution practices across all commissioning activities.

- Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies.

Stakeholder Management :

- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, OEMs, and internal teams.

- Manage vendor performance and ensure adherence to contractual obligations.

- Present commissioning progress, risks, and mitigation plans to leadership and clients.

Core Competencies :

- Strong expertise in Electrical & Mechanical commissioning of Data Centers

- In-depth knowledge of system integration and critical infrastructure

- Advanced troubleshooting and fault diagnostics capabilities

- Strong leadership and team management skills

- Excellent stakeholder and communication skills

- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Education & Experience :

- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering (Master's preferred)

- 20+ years of experience in Testing & Commissioning of mission-critical infrastructure

- Proven experience in Data Center commissioning projects is mandatory

- Prior experience in a leadership role (Head / Lead / Senior Manager) preferred

Technical Expertise :

Hands-on experience in :

i. Electrical Systems (HV/LV, UPS, DG, Protection Systems)

ii. Mechanical Systems (HVAC, Fire Systems, BMS/IBMS)

Strong understanding of :

i. Drawings (SLDs, Layouts, Schematics)

ii. Testing methodologies & reporting

iii. Automation & control systems

Computer Skills :

- Proficient in MS Office Suite

- Familiarity with BMS/IBMS tools and commissioning software is an advantage

Certifications (Preferred) :

- Certification in Testing & Commissioning / Commissioning Management

- Relevant certifications in Electrical / HVAC systems / Safety standards
