The Technical Business Analyst / Data Analyst will play a key role in understanding how the existing Privilege Guard implementation operates across the global estate, documenting current processes, analysing activity logs, and supporting the design of new controls, as well the replacement solution. This role bridges the gap between technical data discovery and business requirements, ensuring that changes to process, monitoring, and management fully supports that of the IAM uplifted controls, compliance needs, and operational realities.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse existing Privilege Guard logs and identify patterns of privileged access behaviour.
- Document Requirements, Current processes, User Stories and Use Cases.
- Identify repetitive or high-frequency elevated tasks that may be suitable for automation.
- Work with control owners and system administrators to translate findings into actionable business and technical requirements.
- Define requirements for new dashboards, alerts, and reports to support key control indicators (KCIs).
- Support the development of test cases, user acceptance criteria, and validation scripts for the new solution.
- Collaborate closely with Data Engineering and IAM teams to ensure data completeness, consistency, and traceability.
- Contribute to workshops and requirements validation sessions.
- Comprehensive process and data flow documentation showing how privilege elevation currently operates.-
- Evidence-backed requirements and user stories for the new solution, including control wording and KCI definitions.
- A data dictionary and report specification detailing the structure, fields, and metrics required for future analytics and compliance reporting.
- Power BI dashboards and Databricks notebooks demonstrating insights, trends, and gaps in existing behaviour.
- Recommendations for automation of common elevation tasks, backed by frequency and impact analysis.
- Shared deliverable between BA and Data Engineer
Skills & Experience:
- Strong background as a Technical BA or Data Analyst within large-scale IT or IAM programmes.
- Ability to define and document business processes, workflows, and use cases.
- Experience analysing security or system logs, ideally across enterprise environments.
- Excellent data interpretation and reporting skills, with a focus on actionable insight.
- Familiarity with privilege management tools (e.g., Privilege Guard, BeyondTrust, CyberArk) advantageous.
- Proficient with SQL and Excel; exposure to data visualisation tools (ideally PowerBI) a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience engaging technical and non-technical stakeholders.
