Role Overview: We're looking for an experienced Internal Auditor to join our Wholesale and SME Lending Audit team. This individual contributor will be responsible for performing comprehensive audits, assessing risks, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and procedural requirements for the bank's credit portfolio. Key Responsibilities: - Conduct detailed credit audits for the Wholesale and SME banking, covering the entire lending lifecycle. - Evaluate credit due diligence, documentation, post-sanction monitoring, and credit rating models. - Audit credit assessments related to working capital loans, non-fund exposures, term loans, and project finance. - Perform thematic reviews on credit-related areas, borrower credit ratings, loan provisioning, NPA classification, end user verification, early warning systems, and stressed assets. - Identify gaps or weaknesses in credit risk evaluation, monitoring processes, and recommend corrective actions. - Independently analyse financial data and spot inconsistencies or missing details in credit assessment notes. - Ensure timely submission of regulatory data (e.g., RBI data, tranche III, etc.). - Review audit checklists to ensure full coverage and accuracy. - Highlight control lapses, revenue leakages, and suggest improvements to processes. - Collaborate with stakeholders and auditees to discuss observations and finalise findings. - Prepare and finalise audit reports in partnership with the team leader. - Track open/pending audit issues, ensuring follow-up and resolution. - Oversee concurrent audits, ensuring high-quality execution. - Maintain and update audit documentation, ensuring it is in line with relevant systems and processes Qualification and Experience: - CA / MBA / Postgraduate Finance or related field with 4 to 12 years of relevant experience in credit audit for banks. Key Skills: - In-depth knowledge of credit related RBI regulations and wholesale credit underwriting process. - Effective communication and report drafting skills - Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities - Proficient in MS Word and Excel - Ability to plan, execute, and document audits efficiently - Deadline-oriented with strong organizational skills
