Role Purpose:

The Regional Finance Manager is responsible for end-to-end financial management of the region, including credit control, regional P&L ownership, working capital optimization, statutory compliance, and robust financial controls. The role partners closely with Sales, Supply Chain, and Operations to drive profitable growth, cash discipline, and risk mitigation.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Regional P&L Ownership & Business Finance:

- Own and manage regional Profit & Loss, ensuring achievement of revenue, margin, and cost targets.

- Analyze monthly MIS, variance analysis, and profitability by product, channel, customer, and project.

- Support pricing decisions, discounts, tenders, and special approvals in line with margin thresholds.

- Drive cost optimization initiatives across sales, logistics, overheads, and warehousing.

- Partner with regional sales leadership on forecasting, budgeting, and business planning.

2. Credit Control & Working Capital Management (Key Focus)

- Formulate and enforce regional credit policy in line with corporate guidelines.

- Approve customer credit limits, payment terms, and exceptions after risk assessment.

- Monitor overdues, ageing, collection efficiency, and debtor days on a daily/weekly basis.

- Lead escalation and resolution of chronic overdues, disputes, and blocked accounts.

- Coordinate with Sales and Legal teams on recoveries, stop-supply decisions, and legal actions.

- Drive improvement in cash flow, DSO reduction, and advance collections, especially in EPC and project sales.

3. Financial Controls & Governance:

- Ensure strong internal controls over sales transactions, discounts, rebates, claims, and provisions.

- Review and validate revenue recognition, project accounting, and milestone billing.

- Monitor compliance with Delegation of Authority (DOA) and approval matrices.

- Conduct periodic audits and control reviews across regional finance operations.

- Ensure adherence to company policies, SOPs, and risk frameworks.

5. Commercial Operations & Channel Finance:

- Oversee sales accounting, distributor reconciliation, debit/credit notes, schemes, and incentives.

- Monitor channel inventory, secondary sales, and distributor ROI.

- Review and control sales returns, damages, warranty claims, and price variations.

- Support launch of new products, schemes, and channel programs with financial viability checks.

6. Team Leadership & Stakeholder Management:

- Lead and develop the regional finance and credit control team.

- Build strong partnerships with Sales, SCM, Projects, Legal, and HO Finance.

- Act as a finance business partner to regional leadership, providing actionable insights.

- Drive a culture of financial discipline, accountability, and compliance.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

- Regional P&L performance (Revenue, Gross Margin, EBIT)

- Overdue %, DSO, and collection efficiency

- Credit limit adherence and bad debt control

- Working capital cycle improvement

- Audit observations and compliance scores

- Accuracy and timeliness of MIS and forecasts

Qualifications & Experience:

- 8-10 years of experience in Electricals / Manufacturing / EPC / Industrial Products with Qualified CA/MBA

- Strong exposure to credit control, channel finance, and regional P&L management

- Experience working closely with sales-driven organizations and distribution networks

Key Skills & Competencies:

- Strong understanding of electrical industry business models (projects, retail, institutional sales)

- Expertise in credit risk assessment and collections

- Analytical mindset with strong MIS and data interpretation skills

- Hands-on with ERP systems (SAP / Oracle) and advanced Excel

- Stakeholder management, negotiation, and leadership skills
