Job Summary:
The CRM (Customer Relationship Management) Manager in Institutional Equity Sales is responsible for managing client accounts, deepening relationships with institutional investors, ensuring smooth trade execution support, coordinating with internal teams (research, dealers, compliance), and delivering a seamless client experience. This role is a key enabler in driving business development and maintaining client satisfaction in the highly competitive institutional equities space.
Key Responsibilities:
Client Relationship Management:
- Maintain strong relationships with key institutional clients (FIIs, mutual funds, insurance firms, etc.)
- Act as the point of contact for client service queries and research requests
- Facilitate regular client interactions - meetings, calls, roadshows, events
Sales Support & Execution:
- Work closely with equity dealers to ensure timely and accurate execution of client orders
- Provide pre-trade and post-trade support including confirmation, allocation, and issue resolution
- Maintain client coverage data, meeting logs, and follow-ups in CRM tools
Coordination with Research & Sales:
- Work in tandem with research analysts and senior salespersons to ensure timely dissemination of investment ideas and reports
- Organize conference calls, corporate access, and sector-specific events
- Support sales team with analytics, pitch materials, and presentations
Data & Reporting:
- Manage client dashboards, reports on trades, coverage, and activity metrics
- Prepare client review decks and performance summaries periodically
- Ensure CRM data is updated and accurate to support business strategy
Compliance & Risk:
- Ensure all client interactions comply with regulatory guidelines and internal policies
- Support documentation and due diligence processes for onboarding new clients
Key Skills and Competencies:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- High attention to detail and organizational ability
- Understanding of capital markets, equity products, and trading mechanisms
- Familiarity with Bloomberg, Excel, and CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce)
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
- Analytical thinking and a client-first mindset
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance / Economics / Commerce; MBA or CFA preferred
- 3-6 years of experience in institutional equity sales support, CRM, or related capital markets roles
- Prior experience in a broking firm or investment bank is highly desirable
