Your field of responsibility Your responsibilities include: - Responsible for strong Governance and Control framework for Employee/ Business/ Vendor compliance - Advice and Counsel the personnel / businesses on application of Credit Suisse policies and procedures and of relevant Indian law/regulations. - Conducts periodic checks to provide risk-based oversight and assurance regarding business compliance with policies, procedures, systems, controls and governance requirements affecting their business area. - Assists and provides advice to the underwriting teams, regarding how to meet Compliance standards, policies and procedures that are required by the business - Builds strong and effective relationships across the business to promote a positive image of Compliance particularly with specific teams that are allocated to the business partner. - Maintains awareness of organizational structures and activities, including activities and intercompany relationships/dependencies, in order to understand business dynamics, pressures and needs - Assist with identifying relevant training needs and helps with planning training activities to ensure employees/ vendors are aware of their responsibilities regarding compliance and carry out their work activities appropriately - Act as a referral point for the business, providing technical input and expertise interpreting compliance regulations/requirements and relating this to business activities - Perform supervisory review of work done by team, ensuring alerts are called out, analyzed, and cleared accurately in a timely manner, documentation of rationale and accurate record keeping. Review regulatory and compliance aspects of compliance related initiatives - Conduct specific training on relevant Indian and foreign regulations relevant to specific functions or processes that may be transferred to the CS India - Respond to request or queries for information in relation to trades to help identify possible misconducts. Act as a key liaison with internal control groups on compliance-related issues and respond to audit requests - Review MIs for distribution to India-CCO, Senior Managers and Global partners - Proactively highlight compliance related issues and bring them to successful closure. Mitigate risks for the entity by being vigilant and on high alert regarding the compliances - Acquire endorsements and buyin from partners on recommendations - Engage partners and team members actively in regular progress updates, decisions and resolution of issues - Identify risks and issues and drive respective mitigations - Conduct periodic compliance reviews. - Assist in compliance review of issues related to the migration of processes and functions to the CS India. - Assist in responding to any regulatory inquiries and hands on knowledge of SEZ/ STPI /DoT regulations. - Lead/assist in conduct and compliance incidents in collaboration with OR&lt; Information Security, General Counsel and HR. Your future colleagues : India CCO team comprises of two key parts - First is Compliance coverage for all deployed (ex-BDC) functions based in India (Pune, Mumbai, Bangalore), across Technology, Operations, Risk, Finance and others. Second part is the deployed activities of global CCO processes that are carried out from Pune. CCO Coverage team is looking for a Compliance Business Partner which will report to the Head of Compliance for Powai & Pune. Key responsibilities are to support the business through delivering effective compliance monitoring, oversight and compliance advisory to the Business and Staff at the CS India and its affiliates for policies, procedures, systems, and controls. Collaborate with other shared services functions and build a compliance culture through training and various other awareness initiatives within the India Offices. Be vigilant and highlight risks and bring them to successful closure. CCO India provides independent oversight and control over the compliance and regulatory risks. Your skills and experience: We are looking for a hardworking and motivated individual with the following qualifications: - University degree / Professional Degree with specialization in finance or banking would be an asset - Experience of at least 10 to 15 years of operating in the compliance, operational risk or audit department preferably in investment banking/ financial sector - Strong knowledge of compliance policy framework and procedures including but not limited to personal account trading, outside business interests, anti-bribery, gifts & entertainment, data protection and regulatory landscape - Ability to understand processes and activities across corporate functions (Risk, Finance, operations, Technology) and the inherent risks and control requirements - Strong Control mentality with prior experience setting/testing controls - Working knowledge of the Indian regulatory framework and SEBI and RBI regulations is desired. - Familiarity with the financial services industry and offshoring services provided from India to global financial institutions will be an advantage. - Possess strong regulatory, product and transaction knowledge - Outstanding analytical and problem solving skills - Influencing skills in securing buyin to recommendations and business benefits - Consultative approach to business relationship management, proactively sharing "what works best" with others across the Peer Groups - Ability to articulate complex concepts simply and strong conflict management skills, - Disciplined and detailed in review approach and record retention - Proven ability to handle senior partners by collaborating, challenging and advising - Ability to think strategically, demonstrate thought leadership whilst being capable of translating concepts into effective implementation - Team management experience for work assignment, monitoring, performance management and staff development - Proven track record of improving/optimizing processes and implementing solutions for benefit of the organization - Establish and cultivate strong working relationships across departments.
