Role & responsibilities


Job Title: Credit Manager Mid & Large Corporate


Role Objective


The Credit Manager will be responsible for the end-to-end credit underwriting and risk assessment of a diverse portfolio including Mid-Market enterprises and Large Corporates. The role involves analyzing complex financial structures, evaluating creditworthiness, and ensuring a balanced risk-reward ratio while supporting the business growth of the Corporate Banking division.


Key Responsibilities


1. Credit Underwriting & Analysis


- Conduct comprehensive credit appraisals of new and existing corporate clients.


- Analyze audited financial statements, cash flow projections, and business models to assess repayment capacity.


- Prepare detailed Credit Approval Memorandums (CAMs) for submission to credit committees.


- Evaluate sector-specific risks, industry trends, and the competitive positioning of corporate borrowers.


2. Portfolio Management & Monitoring


- Conduct periodic reviews of the assigned portfolio to identify early warning signals (EWS).


- Monitor compliance with financial covenants and terms of sanction.


- Track industry-specific developments that may impact client credit profiles.


- Oversee the annual renewal process for credit facilities.


3. Risk Mitigation & Structuring


- Structure credit facilities (Working Capital, Term Loans, Project Finance, Non-Fund Based limits) to mitigate identified risks.


- Assess collateral adequacy and perfection of charge.


- Liaise with Legal, Technical, and Operations teams to ensure documentation and disbursement compliance.


4. Stakeholder Management


- Collaborate with Relationship Managers (RMs) to understand client requirements and provide viable credit solutions.


- Present high-ticket cases to senior management and risk committees for approval.


- Interface with external stakeholders, including statutory auditors and credit rating agencies, when necessary.


Preferred candidate profile


Education: CA / MBA (Finance) / CFA or equivalent post-graduate degree in Finance.


Experience: 510 years of experience in Corporate Credit Underwriting or Risk Management within a Bank or NBFC.


Analytical Prowess: Expert-level understanding of balance sheets, P&L, and Cash Flow Statement analysis.


Knowledge: Strong grasp of RBI guidelines, statutory audit requirements, and corporate law.


Tools: Proficiency in financial modeling and credit rating tools/software
