Role: Credit Manager Infrastructure / Project Finance

Department: Wholesale Banking

Location: Mumbai

Role Overview:

We are looking to hire a Credit Manager to lead credit evaluation and risk management for Infrastructure / Project Finance exposures. The role involves overseeing credit underwriting, guiding deal structuring, and managing a portfolio of infra assets while ensuring robust risk controls.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead end-to-end credit appraisal for Infrastructure projects and Large Corporate exposures

- Review and approve Credit Appraisal Notes (CRANs) with detailed analysis of project viability, cash flows, and risk factors

- Drive structuring of transactions in collaboration with business teams, ensuring optimal risk-return balance

- Provide guidance on terms & conditions, covenants, and credit risk mitigation strategies

- Engage with clients and stakeholders for complex deal discussions and critical information gathering

- Monitor the credit portfolio, track performance of underlying projects, and identify early warning signals

- Oversee preparation of Monthly / Quarterly Monitoring Reports and ensure adherence to sanction terms

- Ensure timely escalation of stressed exposures with clear action plans and resolution strategies

- Conduct periodic portfolio reviews and recommend provisioning / risk rating changes where required

- Supervise site visits, review inspection reports, and ensure project progress aligns with assumptions

- Manage internal audits, compliance requirements, and regulatory guidelines

Candidate Requirements:

- Strong experience in Credit Underwriting / Risk Management for Infrastructure / Project Finance

- Proven ability to handle large and complex exposures and lead credit decisioning

- Deep understanding of project finance structures, concession frameworks, and sector risks (roads, power, renewables, etc.)

- Strong financial modeling and analytical skills

- CA / MBA (Finance) / CFA

- Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and decision-making abilities
