Credit Manager - High-Ticket Underwriting - Auto Finance - CA

Role Overview:

Leading auto finance platform is building its credit franchise in India and is looking for a Credit Manager to own underwriting of high-value and complex financing proposals. The role will involve independent credit assessment, financial analysis, risk evaluation and credit recommendations, while working closely with senior leadership and Business teams. The incumbent will contribute to building a disciplined underwriting framework and strong credit risk culture.

Key Responsibilities:

- Underwrite complex and high-ticket auto finance proposals, including 50 lakh - 1 crore+ exposures.

- Analyse financial statements, cash flows, banking behaviour, leverage and repayment capacity.

- Assess borrowers, businesses and promoters, including business model, end-use and credit risks.

- Evaluate collateral and security structures and recommend appropriate risk mitigants.

- Identify deviations, red flags and early-warning indicators and prepare credit appraisal recommendations.

- Partner with Business, Sales and Operations while ensuring decisions remain aligned with credit policy and risk appetite.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

- 5-10 years of hands-on credit underwriting/credit appraisal experience.

- Strong experience in Auto Finance, particularly larger-ticket transactions.

- Candidates from Business Instalment Loans or Inventory/Dealer Financing may also be considered where ticket size and underwriting complexity are comparable.

- Demonstrated experience independently evaluating 50 lakh - 1 crore+ credit proposals.

- Strong financial statement analysis, cash-flow assessment and credit judgement.

- CA preferred, with strong analytical, decision-making and stakeholder-management skills.
