Job Overview :
The Credit Lead (B2B) will play a pivotal role in driving the credit underwriting and risk management function for corporate and fleet clients in the electric vehicle (EV) ecosystem. This role involves end-to-end ownership of credit assessment-from financial analysis and due diligence to credit structuring and portfolio monitoring. The incumbent will work closely with sales, operations, and product teams to build robust credit frameworks that enable scalable and sustainable B2B lending.
What You'll Do:
- Analyze and assess creditworthiness of corporate/B2B customers in the EV industry (like fleet operators) using financial statements, bank data, GST records, and industry research.
- Single handedly prepare detailed credit proposals including business, credit, and financial risk profiling; structure lease terms.
- Developing sector-specific credit scoring models considering EV industry trends.
- Conduct personal discussions or meetings with clients to clarify documents, understand business models, and resolve queries.
- Regularly review and update credit policies in response to emerging portfolio risks and market developments.
- Monitor existing B2B loan portfolios for performance, compliance, and covenant adherence; track payments and overdue accounts.
- Maintain and update records of all credit applications, approvals, rejections, and exceptions.
- Collaborate with business/sales teams, operations to streamline credit processes and enable fast, effective decision-making.
- Provide inputs on new risk metrics, process automations, and credit product development.
Qualifications /Skills:
- MBA/CA from a premier B-school or equivalent, with 6-10 years in credit underwriting or risk management focused on B2B or commercial lending.
- Demonstrable expertise in credit risk assessment, financial analysis, and due diligence within the EV or automotive sector is a plus.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with an ability to negotiate and influence across diverse functional teams and external partners.
- Proven ability to develop credit policies and scoring models tailored to niche sectors.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, agile startup environment with a focus on creative problem solving and ownership.
- Superb communication skills. Ability to simplify complex data.
