Looking for Credit Head - Financial Institution Group | Indian Private Sector Bank | Mumbai

We are looking for candidates from Indian Private Sector Banks only.

A Head of Credit for the Financial Institutions Group (FIG) is responsible for overseeing the credit risk management and portfolio analysis for financial institutions, including assessing creditworthiness, underwriting credit facilities, and managing relationships with institutional clients. Key duties include analyzing financial statements and industry trends, ensuring adherence to RBI guidelines, preparing risk advisories, presenting findings to credit committees, and coordinating with internal teams for timely disbursements. Strong skills in financial modeling, risk assessment, and communication.

Key Responsibilities:

- Credit Assessment & Underwriting: Evaluate new and enhanced credit proposals for working capital and other facilities for financial institution clients.

- Risk Analysis: Analyze financial statements, market trends, and industry specifics to assess the creditworthiness of financial institutions.

- Portfolio Management: Conduct portfolio analysis, monitor risks such as exposure and concentration, and implement risk mitigation plans.

- Credit Policy & Compliance: Ensure adherence to Bank's internal credit policies and the guidelines set by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI).

- Stakeholder Engagement: Present credit recommendations to senior credit committees and engage with clients' management to gain a holistic view of their operations.

- Coordination: Work with legal, valuation, and operations teams to ensure smooth and timely processing of credit facilities.

- Market Insights: Track and analyze the performance of various financial institution segments and identify high-risk industries.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Educational Background: A Chartered Accountant (CA) or MBA (Finance) or equivalent qualification is typically required.

- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical capabilities with expertise in financial modeling and comprehensive risk assessment.

- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills are essential for interacting with senior management and clients.

- Financial Knowledge: Deep understanding of corporate banking products, financial data analysis, and risk management tools.

- Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with RBI regulations and their application in the banking sector.
