Job Description: Credit Analyst - Construction Finance
Location: Mumbai Prabhadevi
Department: Construction Finance
Reporting To: Head Credit-Construction Finance, Construction Finance
Preferred: Only Mumbai Candidates.
Role Overview:
The Credit Underwriter Construction Finance will be responsible for evaluating, analyzing, and approving credit proposals related to construction and real estate financing. The role demands strong financial acumen, risk assessment capabilities, and expertise in underwriting structured credit for developers, contractors, and infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Credit Appraisal & Risk Assessment:
- Evaluate and make construction finance proposals including developer loans, project financing, and structured credit facilities.
- Conduct detailed analysis of borrower financials, project cash flows, repayment capacity, and collateral valuation.
- Assess market risks, regulatory compliance, and project viability.
2. Due Diligence & Documentation:
- Perform due diligence on legal, technical, and financial aspects of projects.
- Review title documents, approvals, and statutory clearances.
- Ensure compliance with internal credit policies and RBI/NBFC guidelines.
3. Portfolio & Risk Monitoring:
- Monitor sanctioned projects for progress, fund utilization, and repayment schedules.
- Identify early warning signals and recommend corrective actions.
- Maintain portfolio hygiene and minimize non-performing assets (NPAs).
4. Stakeholder Management:
- Collaborate with business teams, legal, technical, and risk functions for end-to-end underwriting.
- Present credit proposals to Credit Committee and senior management.
- Liaise with external consultants, valuers, and auditors for project assessments.
Desired Skills & Competencies:
- Knowledge of RBI circulation of project finance, Oct 2025 in mandatory.
Qualifications:
- MBA/CA/CFA or equivalent in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
- 5- 10 years of experience in credit underwriting, preferably in construction finance / real estate lending.
- Exposure to NBFCs, Banks, or Housing Finance Companies will be an advantage.
Working Days: Mon - Friday
Working Timings: 10.30AM - 7 PM
