Job Summary :
The Dy. General Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing the execution of oil and gas contracting projects across India. This leadership role requires in-depth industry knowledge, team and vendor management, technical and commercial acumen, and the ability to drive operational excellence in a geographically distributed project landscape. The role requires deep technical knowledge, cross-functional coordination, regulatory compliance, project management expertise, and the ability to deliver large-scale projects within time, cost, and quality parameters.
The role is expected to proactively identify and address issues relating to the performance of the contract and risks to CR3 India. The role will ensure that services are delivered through the effective and efficient utilization of a diverse multi-skilled workforce, consisting of both contract and staff employees, to guarantee a safe, reliable and sustainable long term maintenance contract.
The Dy. General Manager is responsible for the driving a culture of innovation and continuous improvement through the contract and ensuring that SMART systems and processes are implemented and utilized to drive improved performance.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Service Lines Responsible:
- Manage P&L of following service lines
- Catalyst Handling Services
- Minor Constructions
- Turnaround & Shutdown Services
- Pipelines/DDT services
- Rope Access Services
2. Operations Oversight:
- Manage day-to-day operations of ongoing projects ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and HSE standards.
- Resolve operational issues with internal teams and external stakeholders (vendors, contractors, clients).
3. Project Management:
- Lead the execution of oil & gas EPC projects across India including pipeline, process plants, terminals, and infrastructure.
- Plan, monitor, and control project activities across multiple sites to ensure timely delivery.
- Lead teams in site mobilization, execution, commissioning, and project closeout.
4. Strategic Planning & Execution:
- Contribute to operational strategy for business expansion, cost optimization, and operational efficiency.
- Coordinate with procurement, engineering, finance, and HR for resource planning and project execution.
5. Stakeholder Coordination:
- Serve as the primary point of contact between the company and clients, consultants, and statutory bodies.
- Coordinate internal departments (procurement, engineering, HR, HSE, and finance) for seamless project execution.
- Maintain strong vendor and subcontractor relationships to ensure timely execution.
- Participate in client meetings, project reviews, and contract negotiations
6. HSE & Quality Assurance:
- Enforce stringent health, safety, and environmental standards across all project locations.
- Oversee QA/QC processes to ensure conformance with industry and client standards.
- Drive incident reporting, analysis, and corrective actions in line with company policies.
7. Contract & Commercial Oversight:
- Support commercial teams in contract interpretation, claims, and billing.
- Ensure contractual deliverables are met and resolve client or contractual issues effectively.
- Monitor project budgets and profitability metrics.
8. Regulatory & Compliance:
- Ensure all project activities comply with industry regulations, safety norms, and environmental standards.
- Coordinate audits and prepare documentation for statutory and internal compliance.
9. Team Leadership & Development:
- Lead a multidisciplinary project execution team including engineers, supervisors, HSE officers, and site managers.
- Ensure performance management, training, and development initiatives are in place.
- Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and operational excellence.
Mandatory Qualification & Experience:
1. Degree in Engineering or Business Management.
2. 20 years comprehensive experience in the management and planning of refinery maintenance in a contracting environment.
3. The proven ability to successfully manage a diverse mix of personnel primarily utilizing excellent development, motivational and leadership skills in a fully competent manner.
