A leading American automation and intelligent technology company with a strong global footprint across industrial automation, intralogistics, and technology-driven solutions is significantly expanding its presence in India. With established operations across North America, Europe, and Asia Pacific, the organisation is now investing in building a full-scale India operation across multiple high-growth industry verticals.
This is a rare, senior leadership opportunity to join as Country Head - India, with the mandate to build, lead, and grow the business from an established base into a scaled national operation. The role carries full P&L responsibility and reports directly to global leadership.
The Role :
The Country Head will be the senior-most representative of the organisation in India, responsible for driving business growth, leading the India team, and establishing the company as a preferred automation partner across key industrial sectors. This is not a back-office or support role - it is a Go-to-Market leadership position requiring an entrepreneurial mindset, strong executive presence, and the ability to engage at the highest levels of client organisations across manufacturing, automobile industry, retail, pharma, FMCG, healthcare, and e-commerce.
Key Responsibilities :
Business Leadership & P&L Ownership :
- Own the India P&L - revenue, margin, cost, and growth targets across all verticals
- Define and execute the India Go-to-Market strategy in alignment with global business objectives
- Build and scale India operations - people, processes, partnerships, and infrastructure
- Identify and develop new business opportunities across manufacturing, retail, pharma, FMCG, healthcare, and e-commerce sectors
- Drive pipeline creation, deal closure, and long-term account development across key industry segments
Executive Client Engagement :
- Engage directly with CEOs, CTOs, Chief Supply Chain Officers, and Technology Heads across large enterprises
- Lead high-level client discussions on automation strategy, technology adoption, and operational transformation
- Build long-term strategic partnerships with key accounts and industry stakeholders
- Represent the organisation at industry forums, trade events, and senior leadership summits across India
Team Leadership & Organisational Development :
- Lead and develop a growing team of 100+ professionals across India locations
- Create a high-performance, client-focused culture aligned with global standards and values
- Work closely with global leadership on talent strategy, succession planning, and capability building
- Drive cross-functional collaboration across sales, delivery, engineering, and support functions
Strategic & Operational Governance :
- Report regularly to global leadership on India business performance, pipeline, risks, and opportunities
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, financial, and operational standards
- Champion process excellence and continuous improvement across India operations
- Contribute to global strategy discussions as the India representative at leadership level
What We Are Looking For :
Qualifications & Background :
- Engineering degree - Mechanical, Electronics, Electrical, Computer Science, or related discipline - mandatory
- MBA or equivalent post-graduate qualification preferred
- 15-20 years of progressive experience with a minimum of 5 years in a country head, GM, or senior regional leadership role
- Demonstrated Go-to-Market experience - building and scaling a business in India from early or growth stage
- Background in automation, industrial systems, intralogistics, robotics, supply chain technology, or adjacent technology domains strongly preferred
Skills & Competencies :
- Strong executive presence - confident and credible in boardroom-level conversations with CEOs and CXOs
- Hunter mindset - ability to open new doors, build pipeline, and close strategic deals independently
- Proven ability to lead large, cross-functional teams and build organisational capability from the ground up
- Strong commercial acumen - P&L management, business planning, and financial governance
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills - both internally and with global teams
- Comfortable operating in a lean, fast-moving environment with a mandate to scale aggressively
- Strong network across industrial, manufacturing, logistics, healthcare, or FMCG sectors in India is a significant advantage
