Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Country Head (General Manager) to lead the operations and strategic business activities of the India Liaison Office of a leading European Fashion Brand.

The role will be responsible for managing the India office, strengthening relationships with key stakeholders, supporting the brand's India strategy, and ensuring effective coordination between the European headquarters and local teams, suppliers, partners, and business stakeholders.

The ideal candidate should have strong experience in fashion/apparel, merchandising, sourcing, international business, operations, and country-level management, along with excellent stakeholder and team management capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead and manage the overall operations of the India Liaison Office.

- Act as the key point of contact between the European headquarters and India operations.

- Develop and execute India-specific business strategies aligned with global brand objectives.

- Drive country-level business planning, operational efficiency, and strategic initiatives.

- Manage relationships with key customers, suppliers, manufacturers, vendors, and business partners.

- Oversee merchandising, sourcing, product development, production coordination, and supply chain activities as applicable.

- Develop and implement effective merchandising and sourcing strategies aligned with international market requirements.

- Monitor market trends, consumer preferences, competitor activities, and industry developments.

- Identify opportunities to strengthen the brand's presence and business ecosystem in India.

- Manage and develop relationships with Indian manufacturers, suppliers, and strategic partners.

- Ensure smooth communication and coordination between global teams and local stakeholders.

- Oversee operational budgets, resource planning, and cost management for the India office.

- Drive operational excellence while ensuring adherence to global quality, compliance, and sustainability standards.

- Lead, mentor, and manage cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders.

- Prepare and present business updates, market insights, operational reports, and strategic recommendations to the global leadership team.

- Support international business initiatives and ensure effective execution of global strategies in the Indian market.

- Ensure compliance with applicable local regulations and liaison office requirements.

- Represent the organization at industry forums, business meetings, and relevant external engagements.

Required Skills & Experience:

- 21-30 years of overall experience, with flexibility for exceptional candidates.

- Proven experience in a Country Head / General Manager / Business Head / Senior Leadership role.

- Strong experience in the Textile, Apparel, Fashion, Retail, Sourcing, or Manufacturing industry.

- Experience managing or leading operations for an international / European fashion brand will be highly preferred.

- Strong understanding of country management and international business operations.

- Experience in profit centre management, merchandising, sourcing, and operations management.
