Role Overview:
The Costing Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of cost accounting and analysis within the organization. This role involves developing and maintaining accurate costing systems, conducting detailed cost analysis, and providing insightful financial information to support strategic decision-making. The Costing Manager will collaborate closely with the finance team, operations, and other key stakeholders to ensure accurate product costing, inventory valuation, and profitability analysis, ultimately contributing to improved operational efficiency and financial performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain comprehensive costing models to accurately reflect production costs and support pricing strategies.
- Conduct detailed cost analysis of manufacturing processes to identify areas for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual cost reports to provide management with insights into cost trends and variances.
- Lead the budgeting and forecasting process for manufacturing costs to support financial planning and resource allocation.
- Ensure accurate inventory valuation and reconciliation to maintain the integrity of financial records.
- Collaborate with operations and supply chain teams to optimize production processes and reduce material waste.
- Implement and maintain internal controls over costing processes to ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
- Provide cost accounting support for new product development and product costing initiatives to ensure profitability.
- Mentor and develop costing team members to enhance their skills and contribute to the overall effectiveness of the finance function.
Required Skillset:
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain accurate costing systems and models.
- Proven expertise in conducting detailed cost analysis and variance analysis.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and cost accounting principles.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification is required.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Minimum of 7-15 years of experience in cost accounting and analysis within a manufacturing environment.
