Role Overview:
As a Cost Controller for our Fibers Business, you will serve as the financial backbone of our manufacturing operations, ensuring rigorous oversight of production costs, inventory valuations, and operational efficiency. You will work closely with plant heads, supply chain leaders, and the regional finance team to translate complex manufacturing data into actionable financial insights. By driving cost-optimization initiatives and maintaining stringent budgetary controls, you will directly influence the bottom-line profitability of the business unit and ensure that our fiber production remains competitive in a dynamic global market.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the end-to-end product costing process, including standard cost setting and variance analysis, to provide management with accurate visibility into manufacturing margins.
- Partner with plant operations teams to identify cost-saving opportunities in raw material consumption, energy usage, and overheads, thereby improving overall plant efficiency.
- Manage the monthly closing process for the business unit, ensuring the integrity of financial data and compliance with internal accounting standards.
- Oversee inventory valuation and stock audits to mitigate risks related to shrinkage, obsolescence, and valuation inaccuracies.
- Develop and present detailed financial dashboards and performance reports to senior leadership to support strategic decision-making regarding pricing and production capacity.
- Drive the annual budgeting and rolling forecast processes, aligning operational targets with the broader financial objectives of the organization.
Required Skillset:
- Demonstrate deep expertise in cost accounting principles, specifically within a large-scale manufacturing or industrial environment, to manage complex cost structures effectively.
- Exhibit strong analytical capabilities to interpret large datasets and translate them into strategic narratives for non-finance stakeholders.
- Possess advanced proficiency in ERP systems like SAP (CO/FI modules) and high-level modeling skills in Excel to streamline reporting and financial planning.
- Communicate complex financial concepts with clarity and influence, fostering collaborative relationships across cross-functional teams and plant locations.
- Maintain a proactive approach to problem-solving, with the ability to navigate the fast-paced, on-site requirements of a manufacturing facility in Kolkata.
- Hold a professional qualification such as CA, ICWA, or an MBA in Finance from a premier institute, which provides the necessary technical foundation for this leadership role.
- Show a proven track record of managing financial operations for 12 to 15 years, demonstrating the maturity to lead teams and drive process improvements independently.
