Cost Accountant - Steel Manufacturing - East Africa

Location: East Africa

Industry: Steel Manufacturing (Experience in steel industry is mandatory)

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cost Accountant to join a leading steel manufacturing company in East Africa. The ideal candidate will bring strong costing expertise, excellent analytical abilities, and a proven track record in managing cost control within the steel sector.

Key Responsibilities:

- Design, implement, and manage cost classification, collection, recording, and reporting systems for all operational centers.

- Develop costing systems to accurately set material, labor, overheads, selling/distribution expenses, and administrative costs to aid in product pricing decisions.

- Establish and manage cost centers, ensuring accurate tracking of costs and preparation of periodic performance reports.

- Prepare annual departmental budgets, reconcile cost accounting records with general ledgers, and monitor budgetary expenses for all cost centers.

- Generate and distribute budgetary control reports (capital expenditure, cash flow, sales, material consumption, P&L, etc.).

- Analyze resource utilization (workforce, machinery, tools) to ensure efficiency and cost effectiveness.

- Train and mentor junior team members on costing processes and reporting standards.

Qualifications & Experience:

- Mandatory: Experience in steel manufacturing costing (89 years).

- ICWA / B.Com / M.Com (Cost & Management Accounting preferred).
