Role Overview:
The Corporate Accounting Analyst will be part of the Corporate Accounting team, providing operational and analytical support with a primary focus on revenue accounting. The role will cover investment income, management fees, incentive fees/income, related compensation expenses, and other fund-related transactions.
The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of US GAAP and ASC 606, experience in revenue accounting within asset management, private equity, alternative investments, banking, or broader financial services, and the ability to interpret complex fee arrangements and investment management agreements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure timely and accurate accounting, reporting, and analysis of revenue-related activities, including investment income, management fees, incentive fees/income, related compensation expenses, and fund-related transactions.
- Prepare, maintain, and own revenue accounting schedules, including management fee, investment income, and incentive compensation calculations, along with related general ledger analyses and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Review and interpret investment management agreements, fee arrangements, and incentive compensation agreements to determine appropriate accounting treatment and revenue recognition.
- Perform revenue recognition assessments in accordance with US GAAP, ASC 606, and company accounting policies, and maintain appropriate documentation supporting accounting conclusions.
- Prepare quarterly GAAP and non-GAAP reconciliations, with a focus on management fees, investment income, and incentive income/expense.
- Prepare and post accurate and complete journal entries related to management fees, investment income, incentive fees, and other fund-related transactions.
- Support month-end and quarter-end close activities, including preparation and roll-forward of reporting schedules, account reconciliations, and variance analyses.
- Monitor daily cash postings and review supporting documentation for revenue-related transactions to ensure completeness and accuracy.
- Partner with Fund Accounting, International Accounting, Tax, Treasury, Investor Relations, and other cross-functional teams to reconcile cash activity and ensure consistency across financial reporting.
- Perform financial analysis and prepare management reporting to support business and accounting requirements.
- Participate in special projects, accounting policy initiatives, process documentation, and fund-related accounting projects.
- Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement, automation, and operational efficiency within revenue accounting processes.
- Execute and maintain key internal controls to support compliance with corporate accounting policies, US GAAP, and applicable financial reporting requirements.
- Support finance systems implementations, enhancements, and process improvements, including Workday and other revenue accounting-related systems.
Experience & Technical Requirements:
- 3 - 4 years of progressive post-qualification accounting experience, with significant exposure to revenue accounting and/or accounting for investment income, management fees, and incentive fee arrangements.
- Strong understanding and practical application of US GAAP, particularly ASC 606 - Revenue from Contracts with Customers.
- Prior experience in asset management, investment management, private equity, alternative investments, banking, or financial services is strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, financial analysis, journal entries, and month-end/quarter-end close processes.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret complex fee arrangements, investment management agreements, and incentive compensation structures and determine appropriate accounting treatment.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with a high level of attention to detail.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word.
- Experience with Workday Financials or other ERP/accounting systems is preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a fast-paced financial environment.

Education:
- Chartered Accountant (CA) - Mandatory
- 3 - 4 years of post-qualification experience, preferably with relevant experience in revenue accounting within financial services, banking, asset management, investment management, private equity, or alternative investments.
