
About the Role:
We are seeking a strategic and dynamic professional to lead our international business operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving global business expansion, managing international sales and partnerships, developing market entry strategies, and overseeing end-to-end operations for international markets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute strategic initiatives to expand business across international markets, with a primary focus on African countries.
- Identify and evaluate new business opportunities, including distributors, channel partners, and strategic alliances in target regions.
- Lead end-to-end tendering processes for international IT projects, from opportunity identification to submission and execution.
- Drive negotiations, finalize agreements, and establish long-term partnerships with clients, government bodies, and local partners.
- Liaise with embassies, ministries, and procurement agencies for pre-bid meetings, RFP clarifications, and project alignment.
- Analyze tender documents to develop competitive and compliant bid strategies in collaboration with technical, legal, and finance teams.
- Maintain a comprehensive pipeline of tenders, consortium partners, consultants, and key submission timelines.
- Foster strong relationships with government stakeholders and international funding organizations such as the World Bank, AfDB, and UNDP.
- Oversee contract finalization, regulatory compliance, and ensure successful handover and execution of awarded projects.
- Monitor global procurement policies, digital transformation initiatives, and
international bidding norms (e.g., FIDIC, World Bank).
- Ensure adherence to international trade laws, export documentation standards, and cross-border compliance requirements.
- Stay abreast of market trends and competitive intelligence to refine go-to-market and partnership strategies.
- Manage export-related documentation, certifications, and regulatory liaisons for overseas trade operations.
- Represent the organization in global trade fairs, exhibitions, and international business forums.
- Provide strategic direction, leadership, and mentorship to the international business development team.
- Demonstrated experience in executing or contributing to government projects in African markets is highly desirable.
- Prior hands-on experience in African markets with a deep understanding of local business environments is essential.
- Must be willing to travel extensively across African countries and other international locations as required.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in B.Tech from a top-tier university, with a Master's in International Business or an MBA from IIM or an equivalent A-level institute
- 15+ years of proven experience in international business development.
- Strong knowledge of global trade practices, regulatory norms, and documentation
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and leadership skills
- Willingness to travel internationally as required
- Familiarity with government liaising and export promotion bodies is preferred
- Proficiency in handling international tenders and trade documentation
