Hiring an ambitious Consultant - Asset Optimisation with strong exposure to asset-intensive operations, reliability, maintenance, lean manufacturing, and shop-floor performance improvement. The role involves working with leading industrial clients across power, metals, mining, and process manufacturing to improve reliability, reduce operational costs, and unlock throughput.

A leading Manufacturing & Operations Consulting Practice offering an opportunity to work on large-scale industrial transformation initiatives, collaborate with senior operational leaders, and build deep expertise across asset optimisation, reliability, lean manufacturing, and operational excellence.

Responsibilities:

- Conduct end-to-end Asset Optimisation maturity assessments across strategy, work management, shutdown management, and reliability.

- Analyse operational and maintenance KPIs including MTBF, MTTR, OEE, PM Compliance, Schedule Loading, Breakdown Cost, and Inventory/NMI trends to identify losses and improvement opportunities.

- Deploy lean and reliability tools such as 5S, Value Stream Mapping, SMED, Standardised Work, and Kitting & Staging.

- Drive shop-floor implementation of condition monitoring, CMMS/SAP work-order discipline, and pre-operational checklists.

- Lead structured Root Cause Analysis (RCA) using 5-Why, Fishbone, and FMEA methodologies and drive corrective and preventive actions.

- Develop operational models and asset strategies using RCM and PMO methodologies to optimise maintenance, spares, and resource allocation.

- Train and coach shop-floor teams, supervisors, and reliability engineers through war-room reviews, operator scorecards, and knowledge-sharing sessions.

- Manage discrete workstreams, structure problems effectively, sequence activities, and ensure timely delivery of engagements.

Requirements:

- 3 + years of relevant experience, preferably combining industry operations/maintenance exposure with management consulting.

- Post-graduate degree / MBA, or strong engineering background in Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, Chemical, or related disciplines.

- Prior experience in asset-intensive sectors such as Power, Metals, Mining, Cement, Oil & Gas, or Heavy Manufacturing is strongly preferred.

- Strong knowledge of Lean & Six Sigma, including VSM, 5S, SMED, Standardised Work, and Kaizen.

- Good understanding of Reliability & Maintenance Engineering, including RCA, FMEA, RCM, PMO, Criticality Analysis, Condition-Based Maintenance, OEE, and MTBF improvement.

- Exposure to Process Optimisation & Analytics, including Cpk/SPC, PFMEA, MSA, and CMMS/SAP-PM data.

- Excellent client management and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively on the shop floor as well as with senior stakeholders.
