Job Summary:
We are seeking a MidSenior level HR Solutions Services Associate Manager with strong expertise in US Defined Benefit (DB) plan administration and manual benefit calculations.
This role is critical in managing complex DB plans, ensuring compliance, supporting audits, and delivering high-quality client service.
The ideal candidate will independently manage plan operations, act as a subject matter expert (SME), and contribute to process improvements while consistently meeting SLAs.
Key Responsibilities (KRAs)
US Defined Benefit Plan Administration
- Independently manage and administer assigned US Defined Benefit pension plans, ensuring accurate interpretation of plan provisions and regulatory requirements.
- Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for DB plans, supporting complex plan scenarios and escalations.
- Ensure end-to-end plan operations are compliant with client contracts, ERISA, and internal controls.
Manual Calculations & Analysis
- Perform complex manual benefit calculations with high accuracy, including retirement, termination, death, and other benefit events.
- Review system-generated calculations and validate results against plan documents.
- Analyze calculation discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
Client & Employee Support
- Respond to employee and client inquiries via calls, emails, and case management tools in a professional and timely manner.
- Provide clear, accurate explanations of plan provisions and benefit calculations.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication.
Audit & Compliance Support
- Support internal, client, and regulatory audits, including data validation, documentation, and audit response preparation.
- Ensure adherence to audit controls, documentation standards, and compliance requirements.
- Identify audit risks and recommend corrective or preventive actions.
Issue Resolution & Process Improvement
- Resolve complex issues using Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Quick Solver methodologies.
- Identify process gaps and recommend enhancements to improve accuracy, efficiency, and client satisfaction.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and knowledge-sharing activities.
Knowledge Management & Mentorship
- Research plan rules, regulatory updates, and policy changes; recommend plan or process updates when required.
- Support training and mentoring of junior team members.
- Contribute to process documentation, SOP updates, and best practices.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Experience
- 4-6 years of overall experience in benefits administration.
- Minimum 3.5 years of hands-on experience managing US Defined Benefit plans.
- Proven experience handling manual DB calculations and complex plan scenarios.
Technical & Functional Skills
- Strong understanding of US pension plan provisions and benefit calculations.
- Experience supporting audits and compliance-related activities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to interpret complex plan documents and regulatory requirements.
Soft Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong stakeholder management and client-facing capabilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- High attention to detail with a strong quality mindset.
- Ability to consistently meet SLA and productivity targets.
Preferred Attributes
