
Job Summary:
We are looking for a compliance professional to strengthen and support the regulatory and compliance framework . The role involves ensuring continuous alignment with Indian regulatory requirements, particularly those issued by the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI), as well as maintaining oversight on company-wide ethical, conduct, and data-related compliance matters in a digital-first business environment.
Key Responsibilities:
IRDAI Compliance Management:
- Ensure the company adheres to all relevant IRDAI regulations and guidelines, including those under the Insurance Act, 1938, IRDA Act, 1999, Corporate Governance Guidelines, Regulations, and Master Circulars.
- Track regulatory changes, circulars, and developments from IRDAI, SEBI (as applicable), and other authorities, and assess their impact on company operations.
- Assist in the preparation and submission of regulatory filings, returns, and reports, ensuring timeliness and accuracy.
Internal Controls & Policy Governance:
- Support the implementation and monitoring of key Board-approved policies such as: Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Know Your Customer (KYC), Whistleblower Policy, Fit and Proper Criteria, Related Party Transactions Policy, Fraud Risk Management and Conduct Guidelines.
- Conduct regular policy reviews to ensure they are updated in line with current Indian regulations and business needs.
Digital & Data Privacy Compliance:
- Ensure internal practices align with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDPA), 2023, particularly for customer and policyholder data.
- Collaborate with IT, InfoSec, and legal teams to strengthen internal data governance, encryption protocols, and incident response procedures from a compliance standpoint.
- Support compliance frameworks for digital operations including e-policy issuance, online claims handling, and digital communications.
Training & Awareness Programs:
- Assist periodic compliance awareness sessions and training for employees on IRDAI guidelines, company policies, and code of conduct.
- Drive organization-wide understanding of AML/KYC obligations and ethical practices.
Monitoring, Reporting & Liaison:
- Conduct compliance monitoring reviews and gap assessments across business functions.
- Prepare compliance dashboards, risk reports, and incident summaries.
- Act as a supporting liaison during IRDAI inspections, audits, and supervisory engagements.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Graduate or postgraduate degree in Law, Business Administration, Risk Management, or a relevant discipline.
- 8-12 years of experience in compliance, preferably within the Indian insurance.
- Strong working knowledge of IRDAI regulations, Companies Act, FEMA, and related legal frameworks.
- Familiarity with data privacy laws, digital compliance risks, and enterprise-level policy management.
- Exposure to IRDAI inspection processes, audit readiness, and regulatory correspondence.
