Role Overview:

We are seeking a seasoned Compliance Officer to lead the regulatory framework for our NBFC operations based in Mumbai. In this pivotal role, you will serve as the primary custodian of our regulatory health, ensuring seamless alignment with RBI and NHB guidelines while navigating the complexities of corporate law. You will work closely with the Board of Directors, senior leadership, and external regulatory bodies to foster a culture of integrity and transparency. By proactively identifying risks and implementing robust governance structures, you will directly safeguard the organizations reputation and ensure sustainable business growth in an evolving financial landscape.

Key Responsibilities:

- Oversee the end-to-end regulatory compliance framework to ensure the organization adheres strictly to RBI and NHB master directions and circulars.

- Manage all interactions and reporting requirements with regulatory authorities to maintain a transparent and positive relationship with government bodies.

- Advise the Board and senior management on emerging legal and regulatory trends to facilitate informed strategic decision-making.

- Design and implement comprehensive compliance policies and internal control systems to mitigate operational and legal risks across all business verticals.

- Conduct periodic internal audits and compliance reviews to identify gaps and drive corrective actions that strengthen our corporate governance posture.

- Lead the training and sensitization of internal teams on regulatory obligations to ensure a company-wide commitment to ethical business practices.

Required Skillset:

- Demonstrated expertise in navigating the regulatory landscape of the Indian financial sector, specifically regarding NBFC operations and RBI/NHB compliance.

- Strong command over corporate law, with the ability to interpret complex legal statutes and translate them into actionable business policies.

- Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to engage with board members, regulators, and cross-functional department heads.

- Proven ability to lead and mentor compliance teams, fostering a culture of accountability and high performance.

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a keen eye for detail when reviewing legal documentation and audit reports.

- Professional qualification such as CS, LLB, or CA, combined with 10 - 15 years of relevant experience in the financial services industry.

- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, on-site environment in Mumbai, maintaining composure and precision under regulatory pressure.
